Craigs List

Does anybody have any positive or negative experience selling cards over Craigslist? Please share, I posted a large lot on their today and want to be very careful, any pointers would be nice. My first rule of thumb is CASH only.

I've bought off of Craigslist several times, and sold a few as well. Good luck.

I had one guy try offer to pay with a check, then a cashiers check. Of course he wrote all in lowercase and it just seemed weird in the first place. I copied and pasted him a link about cashier check scams and I haven't heard back image

I had a few other emails and could quickly sense they were folks hoping for a "flip". Now, I really don't care if a seller or collector buys them, what they do with the cards is their business. But I do wish there were more genuine collectors out there...I noticed that at my first show as seller that half my sales went to other sellers. Oh well, I guess all collectors are also sellers or potential ones, myself included.

As for another thread, I don't want to give it too much attention. There are a couple of regulars over at the eBay board who have an issue with me and instead of addressing the topics I bring up (or better yet remaining silent if they don't like the topic) they get sarcastic and argumentative. I've decided to limit my input over there because you just can't ask a genuine question without getting into some personal attacks, etc. so I'm hoping it will be more positive/constructive over here.

Thanks, Go Pens! Pat! aka Mintacular

The Craigs list Topic in eBay was a link/commentary about the guy who spoofs on 80's baseball card "vintage" sellers on Craigslist, and the Craiglist thread on this website relates to people's experience selling cards on Craigslist--same title but different topics.

I've sold some cheaper cards off of Craigslist, including in the Raleigh area. But I have never tried to sell anything of the magnitude you are attempting. Good luck.

I don't frequent the eBay board but I knew I had seen this id somewhere before.

Thank you for supporting me LSU Tiger! That's very nice of you to quote back my reasoned and kindly stated remarks even though I know you may disagree with some of my positions on these topics! TANK YOU for helping new members on this board meet me! And all this time I thought you didn't like me, you did all that research and copy/pasting for me! Thanks bud! BTW--I have an 83 Donruss Gwynn with corners that could cut glass. Patimage
