Opinions on selling on Ebay

I just want thoughts about what is best way to sell on ebay. I am going to sell a 58 topps jim brown RC PSA 8. Am I best off using BIN with a best offer or a low opening bid with a reserve? Your thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks.

<< <i>A card that hot, you would be best served if you started it at 99 cents with NO RESERVE....that is a VERY HOT card and the market will push it up!! Even I am interested in a Jim Brown rookie PSA 8 if it looks good! >>
What he said. And offer free insured shipping.

If it is a chance of not generating great interest, then it can be risky.
eBay is not the same place it was a few years ago, even a year ago...
Many items that would have routinely gotten multiple bids, even a bidding war, nowadays frequently end with a single bid
and end up at a disappointing end result.
Many cards that used to bring 85-100%+ of book value, now routinely get 50-70% of book value... :-(
And if the cards are not well sought after (commons, medium grades, etc) then it can be even worse.
Don't run a PRIVATE AUCTION, as many people think there is something "fishy" going on, possibly shill bidding that they now can't see.
People are very leery of Private Auctions. (especially since eBay starting hiding bidder ID's)
I know some people say offer everything for free (shipping, insurance, etc..) and to start low,
but it can be just so risky.
I have also not seen any benefit of offering Free Shipping, I know eBay has pushed this, but I have not seen any positive benefit,
it does not seem to add to the final value, it seems to end at about the same point, no matter what.
And with the DSR's, people still give you a 4 sometimes and you offered FREE shipping, how much better can you do?
It is such a shame that eBay has evolved to where it is today, just not the same MarketPlace that used to be such a fun place to sell on.
YMMV

My apologies, it was regarding the 1957 Topps Bart Starr PSA 7 that you felt the need to start 16 different threads.

All you need is the card to be hot and two whales who want it and the reserve wont matter anyway...
I say all this in the context you are leary about it being given away and truly how hot that card is.

How many feedbacks do you have on Ebay sometimes low feedback can cost you if buyers think
you and the card are not legit because a low number of feedbacks something to keep in mind.
