I will provide an in-depth review of City Field as soon as I can afford to attend a game...I'm waiting on a home equity loan to facilitate that, LOL..
Watching Seaver throw out that first pitch made me pine for the days when "The Franchise" would start every Opening Day...I remember watching the last one he pitched in a Mets uni, back in 1983, when he coincidentally shutout the Phillies 2-0...good times, good times...

I'll admit - I'm a bit of an "elitist" when attending a baseball game. If I don't get good seats, I prefer not to go...so when I wanna go, I just pay for the good seats..."good" meaning it has to be on the first level and along the first or third base line not further than the infield - the row number doesn't bother me if it's away from the field a bit, but of course the closer the better.
Of course, it could be those seats in the new stadium may be very tough to get.

I can't even imagine how "painful" that must have been to see Seaver leave. I didn't Google it and I forget the details a bit, but I think him and management got into a squabble to the point where it wasn't about the money anymore - Stupid, Stupid management not doing whatever it takes to keep a great pitcher like Tom Seaver...as well as a player who fans will pay special to see.
Congrats to the Mets being at .500 - I think that's quite an accomplishment for them.
I've said all along that I think this team is a little bit better than the 1962 Mets team...and I sincerely mean that as a gracious compliment....really I do...really I do mean it...I really do.
Oh what's that? Oh, that's just the Sillies falling behind the Mets in standings..
Lead back at one half game, and sure to climb!!
Kevin, start sucking your thumb, the bed is calling!

The standings called, they have the Sillies ahead of the Mets by one half game and are wondering why Stain crawled out from under the bed! LMAO!

The fact is we just went by your crappy Mets with a lights out performance against what was a playoff team last year. I bet you had all the Old Man Jamie Moyer smack already typed out on your computer and all you were waiting for was to hit enter....
No need for Met fans to worry, Hamels and his 12 ERA will be pitching in a couple of days! LMAO!

Phillies bats are scary good, and I mean scary good. All we need is a little better pitching, and we could make a runaway of the NL East because the Marlins are starting to fade like a cheap suit.
<< <i>Phillies bats are scary good, and I mean scary good. All we need is a little better pitching, and we could make a runaway of the NL East because the Marlins are starting to fade like a cheap suit. >>
Pitching is certainly starting off slow for us. Myers needs to settle down and lead the staff while Cole gets healthy. So far Moyer is leading the pack. Hopefully Eyre got that out of his system a few nights ago. Madson is looking good and Lidge will there, even though he looks like wild thing now a days.
We could be down 6 runs and I still would not turn off the tv, this team can score bunch of runs at will! It also looks like other teams in the NL east have pen problems also! LOL

This is a terrific group of players who love to win, and will do whatever it takes to win and play their hearts out. Truly an enjoyable team to watch and I sure am glad and proud to be a Phillies fan.
Man, I'd hate it if the Phillies ever copied the stinkin' Mets and hired a bunch of lazy, unmotivated mercenaries who rest on their laurels and don't give 100% effort. Thankfully, the Phillies aren't like that and I don't think will ever be. Phillies should be winners for many years to come and I certainly am looking forward to that, and more championships.
All I can say is it's a long season, and as SteveK knows, he who laughs last, laughs best...also, you can't tell a book by its cover...

In my view the Mets were sorta a continuation of the Brooklyn Dodgers, so if you're gonna knock the old time Phillies, the Brooklyn Dodgers are fair game in retort smack.

My Dad always told me that the A's never had the fan support in Philadelphia like the Phillies for whatever reason.
Let's be honest...NY is still a Yankees town not a Mets town - of course the Mets have a good following and loyal fans, but not nearly the same scope as the Yankees.
Huge congrats on the Mets being in third place - I think that's pretty good for them. Get ready for that big third place parade down Broadway this fall...that should be exciting.
Youtube video of two non-chirpin' Mets fans, Grote15 and WinPitcher, tearing apart some Mets memorabilia in frustration - I'm not sure which one is Grote15 or WinPitcher?
