We'll see how long the chirpin' lasts.
Remember: He who chirps last, chirps best.
This is going to be sick!

I'll take 1 run victories the same as 10 run victories. A win is a win

If you can only score 2 on the mighty reds you might want to think about trying to track down the Nats come Aug!

Wow, Steve, the copy and pasting thing you mastered in another thread was impressive enough, but now you are linking to You Tube and quoting from Aesop himself...I'm ompressed, truly impressed...

I've been taking a "copy and paste" night course for the past couple years - we're finally getting to the part about paste.

Well, at least the Flyers look good.
<< <i>Lowe still has some nasty stuff, Braves won't win another one against us this series! >>
So much for that. The Phillies are officially 2 games behind the Braves and the Braves currently would play a division tiebreaker at home.

Gonna be another interesting hard fought season for sure in the NL East.
Gonna be another interesting hard fought season for sure in the NL East.
This may be one of those rare times that I actually agree with you, Steve...(the other time was with that scammer with the million dollar scratch off ticket)...

Yea, I took a beating in that thread, but I don't mind...I like the action. Thing is I wasn't "looking for trouble" like with smack talk here...I was honestly trying to be helpful and warn about the real possibility and likelihood of a scam...but as they say "No good deed goes unpunished".......oh well.......

As a Philly fan, you ought to be used to the abuse by now, Steve, LOL...
For the record, though, the idea of a guy who had just won a million freaking dollars to actually saunter back to the store with the actual ticket in hand and then actually let a total stranger actually hold the ticket...well, I may be a jaded New Yorker, but alarm bells would be going off in my head, too, if I were witness to such a scene..

Man you're right about the "Philly fan" thing - Probably where I get my "thick skin" from - LOL
Yea, the whole episode certainly has a lot of red flags - I sure hope the story doesn't end with a local newspaper article about someone getting scammed out of thousands of dollars.
how you claimed it was and it was not even debatable.
By the way what happened to that thread?
Steve
<< <i>Steve it is very possible that it was a scam, what people had problems with was
how you claimed it was and it was not even debatable.

Steve >>
I'll admit Steve, I can't stand scammers and weasels, and I think most on this board feel the same way. Perhaps sometimes I come across too strong, but my feeling is that it's better to be aware than uninformed.
I really thought it wasn't debatable at first, but if you noticed, I did back off a bit later in the thread. The reason I backed off on that thread...after contemplating a bit, I think there's only one reason that "winner" would have come back to that store...if the lottery seller happened to be a close friend or longtime acquaintance or something like that...and that's possible, otherwise I stand by my comments.
I guess that thread is gone with the wind...LOL
<< <i>This thread needs an update on the NL East standings. The one where the Phillies are in 1st place.....if you look at it upside down. >>
I hate it when a very funny comment like that is at the expense of my Phillies.
Steve
The Phillies like to sit off the pace, and then do just enough to win.
The Phillies players have heart - something that mercenary players will never have.
<< <i>The Phillies like to sit off the pace, and then do just enough to win.
The Phillies players have heart >>
What a moronic statement. If they had heart, they would do evrything they could to win and not do just enough to win.
some pretender to win the division and then the world series.

I could have phrased it "do whatever it takes to win"...and the Phillies will do the same this season.
...and a really moronic statement is "if they had heart" - "If" is not in the equation. Didn't you notice the Phillies are the 2008 World Series champions? LOL
<< <i>I disagree, the Mets have done just enough to lose the past two seasons allowing
some pretender to win the division and then the world series.
Steve >>
See Steve, now you're finally starting to learn. Keep repeating after me, "Mercenaries don't win championships"...again..."Mercenaries don't win championships" - I think you've got it.
Is it possibly correct to say that realistically, Washington is already out of the pennant race? - Sick.
<< <i>Is it possibly correct to say that realistically, Washington is already out of the pennant race? >>
Washington has been out of the race since the end of last season. How long before the team is moved again?
<< <i>Phillies and Pets are tied...Braves and Marlins playing some good ball right now.

Mets had their little one week run and it looks like they're done already.
Still have the Braves and Marlins to catch but that will happen sometime soon.
I don't think the 27 Yankees would want to play this Phillies team.
Steve, you can't be serious that you're going to judge a 162-game season after 7 games? Now you sound about as asinine as Kevin..
With a 1-game lead on NY, Silly fans ought not to be chirping too loudly then, LOL..

You're right - I'm not gonna chirp too much or even at all with my team in 3rd place.
You know I kid about the Mets...the only sports team I truly despise is the Dallas Cowboys, but then again...any team trying to win games against my Phillies or Eagles I'm gonna take offense if they're standing in the way.
Hope the new stadium is as good as advertised. I may even drive up to take in a game there before the season is out.

1 game lead..screw that, we are hitting the freaking cover off the ball and if our pitching was even ok, we would be crusing right now. Once Hamels and
Brett get their S together, its not even going to be close.
Well, at least we are beating the Nats for you! Good luck with that race!
