Damn sorry to here that.Try calling him on there board. What a scumbag
Mike
I think whomever posted that is just bs-ing with you:
"only sent index card and received 48 leaf and 61 Fleer. seriously though, rule #1 of ttm is never send something you cant afford to lose. why would anyone send a $500 card ttm is beyond me. good luck"
I hope you eventually get your cards back. I've got a nice Guy LaFleur rookie out right now that doesn't look like it's coming back as he's usually pretty fast. I've also got Joe Montana and Tony Perez rookies out from mid last year that don't look like they are coming back. I thought for sure I had lost an Ernie Banks rookie and he returned it to me beatifully signed after 226 days. I know Bednarik is usually golden in a week or so, maybe your envelope just got sorted wrong by the PO or something, you'll probably have a nice surpise one day in your mailbox.
Mike
Thanks for your e-mail. The problem is that I received my ppd envelope back but Chuck forgot to include my 48 Leaf and 61 Fleer - which he apparantly put in the other guys envelope.

Greg M.

Was that post on SCN before or after you editted your SCN post? While I love the site, there are quite a few eggheads over there that love to annoy with PMs. Good luck and give a try to what I PMd you this morning.

I have a feeling that it's legit. Un f'ing real. I have no way of contacting this person. I've e-mailed the web site administrator...so we'll see what happens.

On Monday March 27th, I sent a padded envelope to Chuck Bednarik and inside was a brand new fine point blue sharpie, a ppd return envelope and a cardboard sleeve (which I use for protection) which contained a custom photo (already signed by Bill Bergey), 3 cards (1948 Leaf, 1956 Topps and 1961 Fleer) and a $20 bill. On April 2nd I got back the ppd envelope with the custom photo and the 1956 loose (for some reason he didn't send back in the cardboard sleeve - which is the only time that he hasn't) and my 1948 Leaf and 1961 Fleer cards were missing. The next day another sportscollectors.net board member posts that he sent an index card and received a 1948 Leaf and 1961 Fleer card and then goes on to say that whoever sent a $500 card TTM is an idiot. I frantically tried to contact this guy, however he turned off his PMs. This morning, I checked and he deleted his post - likely keeping my cards forever. I'm out $320 and there isn't a f'ing thing I can do.
I'm just sick to my stomach.

Did you screen save what he said? If so you may be able to get

Steve,
I did save a screen shot - but I have no idea who this person is. The problem w/ sportscollectors.net is that you have no idea who the board member is. I've contacted the mod, however he hasn't been too helpful thus far.

against the guy who claimed to have your cards.
If the site owner does not want to cooperate, you can file against him
and the guy who got your cards, OR you can file only against the guy
who got your cards AND ask the court for an order that the site owner
provide the required ISP data and IP#. (Personally, I would name the
site owner, but that is a tactical choice.)
Some of your investigation costs may be recoverable in Small Claims,
some may not.
......
If I was the victim of such an event, I would definitely file suit.
...........
I hope you saved a copy of the deleted posting. If not, it may still
be cached on google. Make screen shots and print the message.
Dont: Brag you recieved someone elses cards and keep them. Bush league.

I bet that Chuck mailed the cards back on April 1st, so maybe this was his idea of an April Fool's joke.

It's amazing how vicious many of the board members are at sportscollectors.net. They are like a pack of wolves.

However, I like what Storm advised you to do. Your case is simple and you have the evidence. Once you file the way Storm describes, you might get results before actually getting to court.
Your situation is a hassle, but not hopeless.
