    US $400.00
    Reserve not met

Why is he worried about getting a "high" starting bid if there is a reserve? Maybe I'm missing something? LOL

How are you sure it's fake? The cert # checks out - looks like a really old flip.

    Yup.

Could have just taken a couple years off, OR used a different ID.

Not a great card to rejuvenate your User ID with, but the flip looks like it could be OK to me.

Card looks real to me too! I guess some people are gun shy, if one little thing looks different. Kind of like the buyer who accused me of selling a trimmed card in a PSA holder, because it moved around a little in the slab instead of fitting snug....

The card and flip are fine.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

not fake guys, you guys shoot first and ask questions later

in a situation like this.. I don't have a problem shooting first.. I think it is a prudent thing to do
there are a lot of scams.. you need to ask questions especially when something appears off..
this I think is ok it is just an old flip.

the OP wasn't making a statement as it ended with ?

sounded like a question to me

I also took it as a question seeing the OP used a question mark.

Had he proclaimed it as a statement then I could agree that he shot first.

Flips from that time period with the rounded border have many different font spacings. Some where the words line up and others like this where the are off. I see this a lot with cards with this flip.

    stevekstevek Posts: 27,774 ✭✭✭✭✭
The question is did the OP make a statement or the statement is did the OP ask a question, and it should be unquestionably stated that the OP stated questionably regarding a statement or question about the auction.

How does a person that just joined know what is typical of these boards?

Or is it just another troll which is ALSO typical of these boards.

I'll make a statement and not a question. The card is no better than a 7. Not good enough centering for anything else. $300 card period. By the way, the flip looks fine.

If the person who submitted the card requested no qualifiers, the card may have been a 7.

    no.. it doesn't..
but the time on this board and # of posts does have something to do with when you can
make a comment like you did.

maybe you aren't even new to this board.. and if you are.. then show some respect.

    Robert (OAKSEY25):

Just an FYI, the original post was a statement, not a question. The "?" was added later after some pointed out that the flip appeared legit just as the grade appears accurate. If you wish to defned the original poster or argue with others, that's fine, but just thought you might want to know the facts first.

True, but I was speaking regarding the date, not the number of posts.

I'll ignore the 'other' troll......for now.

and more about me not liking when a new poster comes on and makes a comment like GEMmt did
    about the board

Keep in mind that many of the "new" posters are just old posters with a new name (and the same attitude). If they are in fact new to the boards, they'll quickly take their lumps with that sort of tone. I'll leave it to a few others to mete out judgement and subsequent "punishment."

Well, if you want to see a definite example of a fake flip, check out this Bobby Orr Rookie

    Fake Orr

How do I know it is fake? Other than the fact that they didn't do a very good job on the flip, the serial number they used happens to be valid since I have that card listed in my Orr registry.
