Lost US Mint Shipments

Anybody else having problems with lost packages from the Mint lately? I have had the last two shipments lost. They ship via FedEx through a system of "drop shipments", which means a shrink wrapped pallet of mail from FedEx "Smartpost" is delivered to the local post office for delivery to recipients. The post office signs for the pallet but does not verify that all packages are there. Yeh, I asked about that and was told by my post office AND FedEx that they just don't check. FedEx told me sometimes packages fall off or are damaged and they just set them aside or slip them onto another pallet, so they may or may not actually go out to the correct place if they go out at all. So when you check the tracking number online and it says your package was delivered to your post office for delivery to you, that apparently is meaningless. I called the Mint and was told I can't file a claim until 30 days after they shipped the item to me.
It seems likely to me that somebody has learned to recognize mint shipments and is helping himself to a few. The system currently in use has absolutely no accountability and is just asking for abuse. And it's quite frustrating that nobody at the post office or FedEx seems to care at all. I'm going to change my shipping address to my in-laws house in a nearby town and hope my packages start to get through.

I never received my coin shipment, the tracking number shows that it was delivered, but I have not seen it. I want to report it as lost or stolen.
Dear eBay,
I would like to list for sale this box of coins I just got free from the US mint.
Theft of government propriety can get to be a real pain in the posterior.
And secruity cammers are small and very cheap now.

Honestly, I wouldn't doubt this. With the current craze of UHRs being shipped I wouldn't doubt the fact that somebody might see a package from the mint and just snatch it. Think about it, the least valuable thing getting shipped from the mint is the current Lincoln '09 pennies, right?
Keep us posted on the progress you make. I'm under the impression the Mint's fulfillment house is trying to shaft people whose packages are stolen (or maybe in your case lost). I hope this is NOT true. I hope the shipper at least has the package insured so they can refund your cash.
BTW: What is depicted in your avatar? An angry girl? Is this from a movie? I don't recognize the character.
I hope people aren't implying that I am trying to steal from the mint and sell the stuff on eBay. Come on ... Why would I post a message about it here if I was doing something stupid lime that? Also, the tracking for the packages does not show it as being delivered to me. I hope I was misreading the posts.

I am implying that truck drivers are stupid some times, but a stay in a federal prison is a high price to pay for a UHR.
