Another interesting article. Not saying I agree, just more information to consider.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

I think if you took the 20 most frequent posters to the gold thread over the past few years, the longer term prediction accuracy (6-12 months) would probably show up in the 60-80% range. The best guys that sell newsletters probably are in the same range but rather than long term trends, I think many of their intermediate term calls (1-3 months) are just as good. In tracking guys like Saville, Maund, Nichols, Rosen, Field, Kern, Burak, Hoye, Puplava, Droke, Ackerman, Polha, Russell, Hamilton, Willie and others for the past several years their hit rate is darn good and probably in the 65-85% range when it comes to gold trends. You're only kidding yourself if you think they are wrong 99% of the time or even half the time. If one tracks the charts closely, you can come up with similar indications that these guys do. They just have more tools in their chest and come to conclusions more quickly than us amateurs.
I'll continue to pay attention to the majorty opinion of this group rather than your typical fiat bull who still can't understand why the banking system rather than gold, is really the barbarous relic. Until the gold bull is dead (or the dollar back to king status), it's a gold bull market. That's a pretty simple concept to follow along with.

They have before.
The analysts you read must be just putting out fluff and kind words, same thing as the FED and Treasury. Ever see those goes come out with technical charts, oscillators, etc? I didn't think so.
Most of the chartists and technicians I've read back up their predictions with charts, stats, oscillators, trend lines, support lines, money flows, volatility, sentiment charts, etc. It's right there in black and white to believe or refute. And you can go back after the fact to reanalyze to see if what they said was right, and right for the correct reasons.
