***Update*** Good news. This seller just moves at a snails pace or something bad must have happened for the recent rash of negs. Here is USPS.com's tracking info for my package:

Your item was processed and left our DALLAS, TX 75398 facility on February 28, 2009.
Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

paid for it on February 12 and still not received. Looks like it's safe to now file for a refund. image

are these not for release due until the end of March? The seller advertised in his auction that the coin pictured was the one I would receive. It was a 2009

LOL, after reading some of that feedback I wouldn't doubt it. Their feedback hasn't exactly been stellar, but I wonder what has happened lately. ALOT of negs and neutrals lately. Has to be more to this story

File your claim now ... this seller is a looser ... take a look at his feed back and DSR ... Why would you even deal with a seller like that?
Ooops .. my mistake ... those are all negs after you bought... He's got a problem in supplying what he's selling...

  • the story usually involves selling items not in hand

the precious metal makes a big move up during/just after the auction

    the source bumps price

the seller can't get item or costs a couple hundred (with fees) more than sale

    they delay hoping price drops

    or some just skip town

Feedback is bad and the shipping time rating is awful. What did you expect??
    image
  • ajiaajia Posts: 5,403 ✭✭✭
Another reason to gt rid of the neutral feedback....it's either good or bad.

Curious though, eBay says his POSITIVE feedback for the last year is 98.4%
When I do the math, 416 Positives out of a total of 438 is only 95%.
Is it that multiple feedback from the same buyer (whether pos or neg) is only counted as 1 feedback? image

I believe that's true .. but only counted as one if left within 7 days of each other.

Did you go though Ebay to get contact info (phone number) ... I find it easier to settle problems talking to people rather than email.

Lot's of negs lately; looks like they have major problems with their supply of gold and silver eagles image
  • I keep on preaching that anything less than 99.9% feedback rating is dangerous.
    Will they ever listen?!

If thats the case, you may as well start calling eBay the US Mint.
  • Situation not good, but if this is a nightmare to you, you should count yourself lucky. If you used a cc call them and say you never got the AGE and they'll credit your account, if you used your bank account, file through paypal. All will be made right.

Not necessarily. I've had many good transactions with people around 99.6-99.9%. I definitely stray away from anyone with under 99.5

yeah, this really isn't a huge nightmare. I guess more like an annoyance.image I just hate having that much money in limbo. It was a bank paypal transaction.

Worst of all I used my 8% off ebay coupon on this. image I guess I lost out on that huh?

  • I agree with you BBN-more to the story. Up until a couple of weeks ago, his feedback was mostly great, but since the middle of Feb, lots of negs.

I hate using my bank account for transactions that big. I don't think there are as many safeguards compared to using a credit card.

OUCH! File PayPal dispute immediately. Escalate to claim immediately.

Just pray that the seller has not swept his account entirely, otherwise you may wind up with the most painful of moral victories:

After careful review, we have concluded our investigation of the Buyer
    Complaint described below.

We have decided in your favor, however, we were unable to recover any funds
from the seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement, recovery
of funds associated with a Buyer Complaint cannot be guaranteed.

In which case you are utterly screwed.

This is why, even if you have the funds in your bank account or PayPal account, PayPal purchases over a few hundred bucks (or whatever you're willing to lose) should ALWAYS be funded by credit card. Period. If necessary, sweep your account and then pay for the merchandise.

Bank or balance funded = you bear the liability if the seller is a fraud.
Credit card funded = PayPal effectively bears that liability.

I know this is a MAYBE and should be specified .... but maybe the seller went on vacation and got behind on shipping and answering emails ... if I was on vacation I certainly would not want to work . This negitive feedback all in 2 weeks make me wonder ... sickness , death in family ... I know this does not help you but it sure looks like something happened between the 14th and 28th. (CALL)

You brought it on yourself buying from a seller with that kind of feedback. Did you expect he would reform just for you?

Have you not seen? the flood of negs came after I won the auction. #2, I don't understand the logic of it being the buyer's fault when the buyer made good on the deal

Soon, you will get an e-mail from the seller that looks something like this:

"Be sure to give us five stars on the DSRs for this transaction. We strive to serve you and do our best blah blah blah... Remember five stars! blah blah blah!"

Sellers that beat this drum irk me. I'm not certain why. I understand that there is money at stake, but if there is nothing in it for me as a buyer...it sounds like whining. The star ratings should be earned through service and not whining.

Had the same thing happen to me. The feedback was fine. The emails were coming and going. Then suddenly, everything stopped! What followed were about 35 negs to this guy's feedback and I was looking for a partial refund for what I bought and returned. Over the next 4 years I heard nada from them. I'd forget about it for awhile and then start thinking about it again and it seemed like every 6 months I would send them copies of the ebay auction and all the emails that transpired and amazingly one day, 4 years later, they finally refunded my money. In that last email to them, I did say that I was planning to make them a topic of discussion in two major coin forums. I don't know if that finally changed their minds or the fact that they had some new people running their business. And no, I won't single them out.

It's good. We all do that. Trust me, I wouldn't have touched that auction with a ten foot pole if all those negs were already there. image I think this will have a happy ending though since USPS.com shows it arrived at their Dallas post office today. Who knows, maybe when I open the envelope it will have nothing more than a piece of paper with "GOTCHA!" written on it.image
