You never posted a pic of this coin.

Did anybody else buy any of these? Are you glad you bought them? I'd like to buy one but they seem pretty high priced.

they were cheaper way back when earlier in the year.......

    Got mine last weekimage

  • I would very much like to own a UHR, however my biggest fear is these coins will Not hold their value due to the high mintage. I am worried that if gold goes down these will closely follow bullion price as there are so many of them made. Any thoughts on this? Would I be better off investing my money in something else? I would appreciate any advice. Many thanks!

They will be available for sale until 12/31 ... no final mintage yet, but over 110,000 have been sold so far.

Thanks OPA! Even if it ends at 300,000 seems small to me for such a wonderful beauty.image

I wish they'd limited the run to 25k or 50k. But it's such a beautiful piece the unlimited nature doesn't bother me.

Still, the mint needs to end the gold eagle program and either do these or the buffalos from now on.

I still have my uhr in the Mint shipping box. In fact, I have about a dozen or more of miscellaneous mint shipping boxes from the past 3 years still waiting to get sent in to pcgs for first strikes. Including the '08 buffalos. image Need to renew my membership soon and free some space!

I got mine as soon as it was minted. It is a beautiful coin and one of my favorites by far, goverment box makes a great display. If you are buying this for investment, just buy a buffalo. I for one want this in my collection and don't intend to part with it until the god lord calls me home. IMHO image
PEACE! This is the first day of the rest of your life.

  • When I bought mine, it cost me a little less than $1200. Had it graded, and got a 70 first strike. Had planned on selling it, but it was too beautiful to let go. It's a keeper for me.

    guys

these will NEVER trade even to bullion, not even close.

even with 100k minted, it is a VERY POPULAR design and will not be replicated in gold anytime soon.

example........2001 silver buffalo dollars.......250k minted......still $150 coin..........crazy popular design, waaaaaay too high a mintage as compared to other commem dollars (where 15,000 is the cutoff for a keeper)

i believe prices will firm up when it goes off sale. you'll never make a killing on this piece, but it will trade at significant premiums to gold spot forever.

Nice presentation, Commem! That box they came in is way crazy. I like the piece and it's definitely a one of a kind but the thickness almost makes it seem like a medal instead of a coin when you hold it. Maybe because it is more like a medal than a coin...duh. Hey, it's pure gold and it's nice so I'm keeping mine.
