Combined shipping costs extra.

I won two lots from coinsplusinc:
270327432360
370026189173
Both items list the shipping as: $4.88 (insurance included)
So after both items completed, I sent a request for the seller to give me a total for both items hoping to get at least a break on the shipping. I get an invoice that has the total for shipping both items and the shipping was now $6.36 + $3.40 for insurance (required). That means the total for shipping is now $10.06 when if I had paid seperatedly it would only be $9.66.
I emailed the seller asking them why and they told me they have a $0.50 "convenince fee" for combined orders!
Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?! So I emailed her back and told her in that case I want to pay for them seperately and I want to receive two seperate packages with two seperate tracking numbers. That was noon yesterday and they havent replied.
What should I do?

Now the seller gets to find out what convenience really means!
Capital investment depends on confidence. - Martin Armstrong
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>Obviously a seller without knowledge of what "customer service" or "common sense" really means. >>
.............
Just went threw a simialer thing on some mint sets I ordered. Bid $1.75 shipping of $4.00 per set then the sets were all cramed into a tooo small envelope and shipped together.
One star for shipping costs and one star for communication really helps those Power Screwers get the eBay discounts.
<< <i>Do a toolhaus.org search on them and you really see it. >>
You shouldn't get charged extra for combining two shipments, but with all due respect, don't you think the time to check out a seller is before you bid?
<< <i>IF YOU ARE AN ANGRY OR VERY HIGH MAINTAINANCE PERSON,
PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM US. >>
Are you getting angry? Is that maintainance you are requesting?
<< <i>Save on shipping. This seller offers shipping discounts on combined purchases. >>
Besides a one-star rating in the DSRs...
Personally, i'd also give them a neutral rating with a complaint about unreasonable shipping charges. A discount means a discount. A shipping discount does not mean additional charges.
Repulsive auction text complete with feedback extortion. Not that sellers can do that anymore.
I do not deal with sellers that run auctions like this.
This is a "blame the rest of the world, for the problem is not with me" problem seller.
Thanks, that makes the "seller changed terms" even easier to win in a dispute.

tracking numbers to paypal. I would send them a nice little email...
I have paid for these auctions seperate. Please make sure you include 2 seperate tracking numbers.
I would hate for these 2 auctions to get mixed up or lost in the mail. As you are aware PayPal requires
you to ship these items a certain way to protect you in case of a lost package.
I have paid seperate to protect myself against any hassles on my end. Disregard the previous
message concerning combined shipping. I have realized this would not be in my best interest on
these two auctions....
If you want a positive, leave a positive. Our system will respond in like kind.
We have never left a negative for someone who left us a positive. We want to make friends and customers across the globe. Life is too short for anything else. Over 10000 positive feedbacks testify to the fact that we do try to be fair and reasonable.
Besides being outdated, doesn't this violate EBay's feedback extortion policy?

At the bottom of the auction page it states: Insurance..Included in S&H
Obvious retaliator through feedback in the past... Funny thing is, his auction verbiage (endless) has buried in it a pretty obvious statement of planned feedback retaliation.
If I were the OP I would neg him in a nanosecond, as well as leave him minimum DSR's.

Shipping for one of the items you listed was $5.33 and $4.88 for the other. Combined, that's $10.21, insurance included. It looks like you were offered a 15 cent reduction on shipping.
<< <i>Thats strange. Could that number have been changed after the auction closed? >>
Who knows? It's eBay- anything's possible.
"IF YOU ARE A HOT-HEAD OR THINK THAT RULES SOMEHOW DO NOT APPLY TO YOU OR ARE DESIGNED TO BENT OR BROKEN, PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM US"
I can't stand it when sellers write stuff like this... to me it's repulsive that a seller would even THINK of addressing his potential customers in such a rude, belittling manner. It's' disgusting!
I would just avoid this seller altogether. No reason to be doing business with a jerk like this.
Do they show the "convenience fee" in the listing?
If not, I'd think you have no obligation to pay it.
Regardless, it's one of the craziest rip-offs I ever heard.
If I sell multiple coins, I ship them with additional purchases FREE.
I hope you can find some way to hurt them; Bad.
