Best pull from a pack?

Mine was Donruss Legend Series Nolan Ryan, at the time the dealer I got the box from was telling me two other customers pulled "Elite" Series cards of Brett and Henderson from his cases he got. I kept it for about a week and promptly traded to this dealer for $300 trading value in which I took a Fleer Jordan RC and some wax which included 91' fleer and score baseball. I still don't know what that Nolan Ryan was worth back then, does anyone know? I purchased one on ebay 2 years ago for $30

  • I pulled this from a blaster bought at Target. It's a variation /25.

Mine was way back in the day when from 96/97 Upper Deck hockey I pulled a GOLD Wayne Gretzky Hart Hopeful. These were limited to 100 cards (at the time that was a big deal). I quickly sold it for $900 through the old AOL cards boards.

I think book value at the time was $1200 - now it's only $160. Finally sold something at the right time!

I've had a lot of other decent pulls...but none with even half the value of the card above.

I'm still gonna have to say this one. It's the card that made me go nuts over buying and ripping again

    Do NPNs count?
I have gotten better cards from NPNs than I have ever pulled from packs - including a Matt Cassell rookie parallel #/10, an Anquan Boldin auto jumbo swatch rookie, a T205 buyback, a Franco Harris auto #/25, and a Jim Palmer auto jersey.

For Beckett value, I think the best card I've ever pulled from a pack was an Emmitt jersey #/25. Of course, I don't do that much pack busting, especially not on high-end packs.

I pulled (2) 1972 O-Pee-Chee Roberto Clemente In Action cards from 3 packs a month or two ago. The first one graded 9OC, the second (and much better centered one is at PSA as we speak).

  • Just pulled this last week at the Philly show. Another Steve Hart clean pack.... razor sharp corners, slightly off center but near perfect.

Back in 2000, I was 14 and worked at a card shop. I bought a few packs of 200 UD Yankees Legends and bulled a Mickey Mantle GOLD NY Die cut game used bat card. 2 days later I bought a 2000 Fleer Tradition Update set and pulled a Mantle game worn pants cards. Both cards booked for $500, and I went to a card show at the mall in Tampa and sold them for $400.00. That was some pretty good coin for being 14, but I used to make a good amount of money selling cards online. That was def my best pull week ever.

That's a sweet Mario! and +1 for being a true base card as opposed to some 1/1 autograph insert card

My best pull was a 1992/93 Fleer Ultra basketball Scottie Pippen auto card. The card wasnt numbered, but the stated odds on the pack was 1 in 9,000!!!

My brother had the best "run of pulls" I had ever seen recently. A few weeks ago, I bought a 1985 topps wax box from BBCE. I opened 28 of the 36 packs by myself, saving the other 8 for my brother. My best pull was a horribly off-focused Eric Davis, and a semi decent Saberhagen. My brother comes over a few days later, and opens the other 8 packs. McGwire, Doc, and Kirby....in just 8 packs!!! We were both ecstatic. Only a Rocket woulda topped that luck!

I pulled a Nolan Ryan First Day Production from 93 Stadium Club back when the book value was around $500. I was pretty amped.

I got $90 for it in '99 graded 9. You could probably get the same card for $40 now.
Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors.
