He's probably back in the UK redecorating his pomme de terre ... or: making sure that the x Mrs Bongo does not locate the secret things she covets image

To keep it coin or PM related ... the one comment that he made ... was very forthright

"If you buy what you like, at a price you can afford at the time, then things will be easier. If you buy what other people like, borrow to fund it and expect multiple of return, then you are likely to be unhappy. Bongo say nearly everything depreciates over time. Bongo would not pay $500 for a silver bell this Christmas and expect it to be worth $550 next year, but Bongo knows a Silver Bell is not old coin. Or is it? Bongo maybe not surprised that old coin is like any other limited non essential commodity and subject to the whims of taste and market. Put the coin in book and enjoy it. If it is worth more when you come to sell it, well done. If not, then you have had enjoyment out of it. Remember that old coin is only worth a few dollars in physical material value – This is why value is an esoteric concept in many ways and it may be vulgar to assign any monetary value to old coin unless you are a Russian Oligarch or Chinese shoddy goods factory owner."

Of course it was typed all caps ... and his excuse was:

    BONGO AWARE OF BIG LETTERS

BONGO HAS MADE HIS DISPLEASURE OF BROKEN KEYBOARD KNOW TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS BUT BONGO'S CHRISTMAS WISH FOR NEW GOES UNANSWERED.

BONGO SORRY AND ASK GROUP FOR PERMISSION TO CONTINUE TYPE BIG LETTERS

It's been over a year since he made his one time visit .... it would be fun to have him back again..

Recollections of the man of mythical proportions from my memoirs..................

This is all I can find of BONGOBONGO...............he speaks with CapsLock ON!

IF YOU BUY WHAT YOU LIKE, AT A PRICE YOU CAN AFFORD AT THE TIME, THEN THINGS WILL BE EASIER

IF YOU BUY WHAT OTHER PEOPLE LIKE, BORROW TO FUND IT AND EXPECT MULTIPLES OF RETURN, THEN YOU ARE LIKELY TO BE UNHAPPY

BONGO SAY NEARLY EVERYTHING DEPRECIATES OVER TIME. BONGO WOULD NOT PAY $500 FOR A SILVER BELL THIS XMAS AND EXPECT IT TO BE WORTH $550 NEXT YEAR. BUT BONGO KNOW A SILVER BELL IS NOT OLD COIN OR IS IT?

BONGO MAYBE NOT SURPRISED THAT OLD COIN IS LIKE ANY OTHER LIMITED NON ESSENTIAL COMMODITY AND SUBJECT TO THE WHIMS OF TASTE AND MARKET.

PUT THE COIN IN BOOK AND ENJOY IT.

IF IT IS WORTH MORE WHEN YOU COME TO SELL IT, WELL DONE

IF NOT, THEN YOU HAVE HAD ENJOYMENT OUT OF IT.

REMEMBER THAT OLD COIN IS ONLY WORTH FEW DOLLARS IN PHYSICAL MATERIAL VALUE - THIS IS WHY VALUE IS AN ESOTERIC CONCEPT IN MANY WAYS AND IT MAY BE VULGAR TO ASSIGN ANY MONETARY VALUE TO OLD COIN UNLESS YOU ARE A RUSSIAN OLIGARCH OR CHINESE SHODDY GOODS FACTORY OWNER

So, what about the thread with the RAT coin in it, can anyone share that with us one more time? And what in the heck is a pomme de terre...a fruit tree?

The thread got poofed by our glorious moderator(s).. to many risque pictures posted by some of the respondent(s).
If I remember correctly ... BongoBongo started the thread by looking for a Rat coin.

Thanks to G.B.'s some of his comments were saved for "posterity" .... To bad we can't go back & dig up the rest.

He was going to decorate his (pomme de terre) Potatoe for Christmas and if I remember, his Rat needed a new frame also. ( Bansky. a UK Street Graffiti painter ... is known for his Rat graffities ) BTW ... some of his prints are now worth "mucho dinares."

To keep the moderator happy .... had you purchased his prints in 2007 after he briefly made an appearance on the forum .. you would have more than doubled your investment ...... almost as good as what some of the PM's did during that time frame. I believe, Brad Pit & A. Jolie purchased about $250k worth recently
