Do you bring some of your coins to work to look at them during the day?
I do cause I am an addict.

I manage money. I earn money. I save money .
I give away money. I collect money.

Though I do bring coins into the office on occasion to take pictures of, or if I need to ship something or have something delivered here...

<< <i>I have an inexpensive D. Pedro IV medal on my desk. I like the picture of the horse on the front. I wrote a thread a few years ago about getting a QE delivered to my office by Doug Winter, and then taking it outside to view it in the natural light. I took a misstep on the stairs, and almost became the first person to break a leg looking at a coin. >>
It's a good thing you did not just stick your head out of the window. You could have been the first person to fall out of a penthouse window while viewing a coin.
I have all coins shipped to me and I ship from work. The light here is also very good.
In fact, there's one coming here today! WHERE'S FEDEX???
I flip 'em when I walk the hallway or just tilt them around under some light when I get
a few moments of slow time.

My office lighting consists of a balance of indirect sky illumination and fluorescent illumination. Two of the worst sorts of lighting for coin viewing.
And although I try to keep my coins out of view from my coworkers, i'm pretty certain they know I am a freak because I get 'questions' from time to time. It's probably because of those darn presidential dollars.
for a quick peek now and then.

I collect all 20th century series except gold including those series that ended there.

I've noticed that cutting oil has a somewhat detrimental effect on my Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof coins.
Therefore, I tend not to look at the coins while I'm working.

I've shown the svdb ("what's so cool about that that it is worth more than $2400?"), the 55/55 DDO Lincoln ("that's pretty cool! How much? WHAT?????"), some toned IHC proofs ("cool...I've never seen one of those before"), but the favorite(s) seems to be the early copper (large cents more than half cents even)...pre 1800 is really cool to many here.
Some of the work folks even surprise me and say "I know what you are...you're a num...numis....numismatist"
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>I usually bring them in when I pick them up from the PO on the way to work.

I do, however, sneak a look at the message boards while at work

Not sure where you're located but a friend of mine has one of those post-disaster decontamination companies, he might be able to fix that for you.
I was never going to be the one who admitted it first though..
I will admit once or twice a broght a couple in to show to a fellow collector.
<< <i>How many of you take a new favorite coin to bed with them?
Er... Kinda.
When I get a new coin, I'll often leave it on the bedside table overnight so I can see it firs thing when I wake up in the morning.
Does that make me a geek?

Unfortunately some low life took note of this and cleaned her out one day. Grabbed her rolls and left and she never noticed that it wasn't me.
I thought the jig was up on this setup, but the next day we conducted business as usual. I would have thought management would have squashed it, but somehow it didn't happen. This swapping went on till she married and moved away.
Her replacement, another older woman, expressed astonishment at the first cashier's marriage. Said she was married once and wasn't going to go through that again at her age. This new one swapped quarters with me, but she handled this herself - no more self service.

You really think I'll admit to that.
