From Julian, PR-7,
"The obverse of this medal is particularly interesting since a profile portrait was not used."
"The first mention of this piece in the mint records is in a letter of April 5, 1866, in which Superintendent Fox
of the Philadelphia Mint sent one of these medals to the Treasury Department; it had not yet bin placed on
public sale.
"It is relevant to note that April 4, 1866, was the forty-fifth anniversary of Harrison's death."

NOT TRUE!
He stayed out in the rain when he delivered the longest inaugural address in history. That caused him to catch a cold which became pneumonia and then die after only a month in office. As a result of his death an old Jeffersonian Democrat, John Tyler, became President. Tyler was an old line Jackson Democrat who hated banks. He vetoed the re-charger a national bank for the United States which contributed to the economic hard times that marked much of the 19th century.
John Tyler was a political imbecile. He alienated everyone around him until he reached the point of becoming a President without a party. When the Civil War broke out, his political tin ear led him south where he became the only ex-president to support the Confederacy. He was elected to a seat in the Confederate Congress before he died.
