100oz silver bars are going for $ 1700 now....

About a $ 2.75 premium... When silver was at $9.50 an oz. they wre selling at a $ 4.00 premium. Question, anyone remember what they were selling when silver was at almost $20 an oz? Close to spot? Thanks.

    I remember 100 oz engelhards were about the 1750 range @ $16 an oz. I believe on ebay.

    i often check premiums. you should be able to find a 100 ounce JM bar for 1.19 premium right now.
    of course factor in shipping.

    when silver was 20, i remember these bars going for 2100+

    At 20.00 last march they were selling for 2100.00, I put three on the bst at 2050 and were scooped up fast.

    Why do Engelhard bars sell for such a premium over Pan American bars made the the "NW Territorial Mint"? (about $ 150 more) Is there any issue with purity on Pan American bars? I would have thought the spread between different makers would be small, unless one maker is not reputable.

    i think it has to do what is deliverable by what companies and those
    who are not. engelhard and JM are both allowed by NYMEX. thus these
    two companies have a lot of credibility leftover from the earlier boom
    in metals. A lot of the buyers then are buyers now. So of course they
    spread the information far and wide about their thoughts on the matter.

    In my case, if a company making silver bars is also a company making
    blanks for the US mint or something equally important... they are rather
    trust worthy.

    But on the flip side, if I could pick and choose silver bars for the same
    prices... i would pick engelhard because I know enough people think
    they are better. Thus the thoughts on the subject continue to spread.

    I bought some on behalf of a friend who then backed out on me and stuck me with them around 3/4 weeks ago. I put em up here for what I was in them and everyone scoffed at $1483. Now I'm glad I got stuck with them.

    Much of this can be had at a lower price though a select few online dealers. Most eBay buyers are very uninformed image

    Yes I was looking at the 100oz bars they should go much higher now that gold is moving again.

    Putogether... glad to hear you you held them. hold on... Silver WILL hit $20 again... I think the dow will test 7000 and people will flock to gold/silver. The dollar is helping the situation too....

    The seller has several for sale at that price .... he must not be aware of the latest silver price...

    Yea, I saw that... Right now I have 10, 100ozer at an avg of about $ 1315. I almost pulled the trigger on the other Englehard they had that looked nicer. They'll be gone by tomorrow for sure.... about $ 1575 with insurance I would guess... Not bad at all. If I had another 8% off coupon from paypal, I'd be owning another.... image

    $1625 is the best price for a 100oz bar right now on the bay
