(1)--The weather is so nice here , down in the People's Republic of Maryland.

(2)--Our 5 sons bring me bring joy from their accomplishments in life.

(3)--My job is doing very well. I know tommorrow may bring something different , but as of this day, its great.

(4)--I love my wife.

(5)--I actually spent , yesterday and today , a little time to read the backs of alot of the recent cards I've picked up of late. It brought back great memories of my younger days.

(6)---Extra credit----- some of the guys on this board , have made my life a little better and I'm glad I've gotten to know them . Hopefully , I've made their life better as well.

1. My daughter (age 4) just learned to read a month ago and is now tearing through books.
2. My son (age 2) sleeps through the night now and is speaking in full sentences.
3. My wife is close to finishing her graduate degree and getting many hours per week back.
4. My golden retreiver only had a muscle pull from a slip on the ice, not hip displacement.
5. I came home from Vegas with a good deal more than I left with, and hit the VIP Superbowl Party at the Playboy Club with my three best friends and sat next to a playmate while playing blackjack and getting 7 to 1 on Kurt Warner throwing exactly 3 TDs. I ate like a viking too.

1. laid off from my job last week.. and was contacted by just about everyone
letting me know they think the company made a mistake and that I was a reason
they enjoyed coming to the office.. ( sure took the sting away )

1) I have good sex on a fairly regular basis
2) The Texas Rangers still haven't won a World Series so I always have something to look forward to
3) Although one of my cars is currently inoperable, I still drive the OTHER Porsche every day

Roger, I am grateful for the fact that:

1) My daughter Francesca, who was diagnosed with CANCER at the age of 3, who went thru more than NINE HUNDRED days of CHEMO, 25+ Spinal Taps and various other procedures ... and now, at age 9, is 3.5 years CANCER FREE!!!!

2) My wife, who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in December 2007 and after going thru a Mastectomy, reconstructive surgery and heavy doses of Chemo, is fighting her way back to being a healthy lady.

3) I am 50 years old and still have my mom and dad around.

4) I have been happily married for 20 years and my wife has put up with all my BS, including the days when I gambled my A$$ off (and many other crazy things LOL).

5) I have so many great friends and relatives, including a core bunch of guys (5 of us) who have been friends for 45 years!

5 things that I'm happy about with my life.
1. I thank God every day for my wife. She is 9 years recovered from breast cancer. I don't deserve her.
2. I still have a very decent paying job despite the economy and all of the layoffs.
3. I'm very happy with my employer that I've been working for 5 months because last October they caught a couple of medical conditions that I have and my doctor told me that if they went untreated that I would've had a heart attack or stroke within a couple of years. Other employers that I've worked for didn't test for such things or they didn't care. High blood pressure was: 160/110 now 105/70 High cholesterol was: 450 now 250 Triglycerides was: over 1,000 now in the 100's. Cholesterol still a little high but I'm taking a new medication that might get it lower.
4. My stepson went to Iraq and came back.
5. My three grandkids. I love the all very much but I have a favorite. I know you're not suppose too. But I have a granddaughter who just turned 2 and was born blind. We have formed a very strong bond and I just can't spend enough time with her. I spent 3 hours playing with her today and even though she is blind and still can't talk I know in my heart she knows that it was me.

5. Income tax returns...when you've not had full time employment in a few months, always nice to receive a large sum of money with which to pay off a bill.
4. The Big Hurt...even though he's probably not going to play in the MLB ever again, it's nice to know that my childhood sports hero has, to this point, remained a pillar of strength in the chaos-filled world of athletics.
3. An amazingly supportive girlfriend who believes in me when I fail to believe in myself. I don't want to let her down.
2. The news that my parents will be making a trip west to visit in just a few short weeks. I miss my family and I'm fortunate that everyone is well for the time being. It's a welcome visit after not having them in my life for the holidays.
1. Having people, things, and truths that I'm passionate about...ie girlfriend, family, friends, hobbies, ethics, morals...and knowing they're worth fighting for.

I really appreciate this contest because I've been rather pee'd off at the world lately and I think I've taken the most important, positive aspects of my life for granted. This contest made me think about that.
