How many of you have watched this show? What's your opinion of it? Good deal? No deal? And has anyone ordered form them, if so what did you order?

Stick around here for a while and you'll learn of reputable houses (like "David Lawrence Rare Coins," and others) where you can shop their web sites for the coins you want to buy. All those TV shows are rip-offs and liars...

I watch to see the coins and to keep a little noise going at night.....................would never buy from any of them though.

BTW........has anyone noticed the infamous Mr. Chambers is back again! This guy has been all over the place.

Seems now that Robert came on board, they have the same inventory as the last cancelled Coin Vault show. The original Coin Country used to sell a lot of raw coins in flips, you do not see those anymore, now all they sell slabbed coins/original mint products/dansco albums all at about 30% higher than what your supposed to be paying for it at any other place.

Every now and then they throw in a clinker where the price seems reasonable, but for the most part, do not part with your money for their wares.

The show did get a bit more class in that now, you don't have a guy sitting at a table wearing a Dr. Suess style "Cat in the Hat" cap.

Yes I have watched the show. Mr. Robert Chambers is like the cat with 9 lives. He shows up anywhere and everywhere there are coins to be hustled. Every time I tune in I get a distinct aroma of horse manure.

I once watched these so-called coin shows on TV as a means of comedy, but have since stopped as a case of aggression has developed for no apparent reason.

My advice, turn off the TV hucksters. Hang out in the forums or browse some online inventories from reputable dealers.

Here are four places I have purchased from and been very happy with the experience.

Northeast Numismatics is reputable.
The Penny Lady, Charmy Harker, is good for copper.
Ebay's very own dmiller (Utahcoin on these forums) is honest and has some nice pieces.
Ebay's very own TypeCoin, is the seller where I have probably bought most of my nicest pieces (but I see him at shows and by private appointment).

When there is nothing else on TV I will grab some beers and watch it for awhile just for a few laughs

Over hyped and over priced.

20-30% too high. There are bits of truth sometimes in the tidbits they talk about. Don't ever buy.

I used to watch it for a few laughs too. It's funny just listening to Robert's sales pitches. I think I saw an item once that was a good deal, I forget what it is now but I would never buy any coins from TV.

Recently my dad and I purchased quite a few NGC MS70 early release Buffalo sets for 2999 from their website.I guess CC figured out that they were $500 to $700 below eBay prices because they've just upped their prices to 3499-still better than eBay but now only $150 -250 cheaper(on average) .All their other Buffalo prices are in line or higher than current ebay prices.They still have early release PF69 sets for 2999 which is about 350+ below most of the recent raw sets sold on eBay- a decent price (and over a $1000 less than pf70 set)

Any currrent thoughts on the Coin Vault? This show is on 3 times a week. I don't believe they sell as much as they claim. But, they do reach a large audience. Never bought anything.

If its a coin on TV, DONT BUY IT! Sorry but my personal opinion of these shows is theyre trash and they tarnsih the hobby just as bad as shady dealers. Watch it for the hobby, I do. I laugh because these guys spout out info they think is right, or useful and a plus to the hobby, and its not. I dont care if they personally collect coins, the hosts that is, but they know they are pulling it over peoples eyes on a daily basis.

Someone has to be buying their stuff or they wouldn't be on the air and more adding on all the time. I think they have a much larger viewing audience than alot of us would think. I saw a new show on just last night. That makes 5 currently running on Atlanta area DirecTV. Buy time and sell your mc....lol.

They sell a lot more material than I think many realize. However, they do not sell this material to knowledgeable collectors for the most part, like the individuals on this board. They sell a lot of product to "armchair" collectors and older folks who find coins interesting but have no real knowledge of coin collecting. You would be amazing at how much of this material we are offered on a regular basis from individuals who just got buried in it.

I think this show is a hoot, and would watch it regularly if I got it. That said, I do agree no one should ever buy from them, but it's nice to see someone talking about coins on television!
