Usually these slabs at least have the correct sized hole to fit the coin.

Yes and no... As long as you don't list it as "certified" or put a numerical grade in the title, then it is okay. For all intents and purposes, it's the same thing as selling a coin in a 2x2 flip with "MS66" written on it.

I purchased a lot of these a while back.. I like the fact they fit into a PCGS box. I would rather have my Morgans
and Peace dollars in these than stapled in a 2x2. I label mine with the date bought and price paid.

Ebay should pull this due to the grade assigned.... They do make great holders for your raw coins.

The slabs are ok, but these grades are NOT appropriate for the coin...

He has a whole bunch with numerical grades in the titles.

Actually numerical grades even on a 2X2 can get the auction pulled. So any of his auctions with numerical grades could go poof it someone reported them.

I think ebay has slacked a little on this policy. I'm sure a few of the "new" users don't know the exact policy and the rest don't care. Don't get me wrong, I'm not making any excuses for these self slabbers. I have a page on my website dedicated to this subject.

I'm not so sure about that... I don't see any direct policy violations here. Pictures are okay. The only gray area, perhaps, is the "66" in parenthesis in the auction title, but since it doesn't actually say "MS66" it's not going to set off any alarms.

Nothing wrong with "self-slabs"...it's the "self grading and trying to pass it off as professional grading" that I have problems with.
This seller is really skirting that area. I find him borderline dishonest for his title (66) and for not stating that the grading is his/someone else's and not a "professional" grading service in his listing.

I have these slabs as well. I like them for storing some of the coins I don't want in 2x2s or loose or in an album.

I will also be talking 2 dozen of these slabs and putting either quarters or 2009 sacs in them and labeling them for my son's birthday party in a few weeks for the gift bags to the other kids. Since they won't be loose, less chance of them just being handled/spent and maybe they will be kept as a keepsake (if not, oh well).
