1986 Sportflics Robin Yount.

Of the two different variations of this card, which one is harder to find?

I have found that the one which was issued as part of an insert set in 1988 Fleer basketball packs is extraordinarily tough to find centered.

  • Thats funny, I heard the same thing.

Way off boo. The glow in the dark insert is way harder to find.

You will find the Brewers hat on the back all day long.

If I would have asked if 88 Fleer Basketball cards run in sequence, nobody would have replied to the post. So... I decided to try another approach, and it worked like a charm.

Do a search for threads started by the OP. There's a fake Mantle auto debacle, a fake Babe Ruth watch fiasco, a timeless Bernie Nichols RC thread--- in other words, a whole host of timeless discussions initiated by this poster which have unquestionably put him into the pantheon of my favorite CU posters.

Nobody does it better, or more often, than mmync. Some may try, but they're pale and feeble substitutes.

In fairness, I'll take a shot at the original question. I don't know which is rarer, but I do know that you can probably get $40-$50 for the Yankees logo in PSA 10, but the Brewers logo is not worth grading. In all seriousness, I do hope this helps.

I'll pay $50 for a raw copy of the Yount card with the Yankees logo in NM-MT or better.

FWIW there are 14 PSA 8s and 15 PSA 9's out there with the Yankee logo (but no 10's, and I'm sure Matt H. would love to get one), so I imagine one pops up at least once in a while.

Who would want one, though, other than Matt H.? He's the only big Yount collector I know.

Matt H. might have the highest ranked Yount collection on the set registry, but I'd put my collection right next to his. I'm just not focusing on getting all of my oddball Yount issues slabbed...yet.

He's actually picked up a number of his cards from me. The way I see it, if I can get $$$ for a PSA 10 he needs, I can spend that $$$ on a bunch of raw cards that will eventually get slabbed.

I just wanted to say that Craig would be very happy if anyone found him the Yankees logo card mentioned. image

  • I just subbed two different Younts for my friend Craig although neither was an 86 Sportsflic. Be back in a minute. Headed to search the web for a few unopened 86 Sportflics boxes.

I've been looking for this card for years and haven't seen any. I don't search every day, so one may have slipped through the cracks on eBay. That said, I wonder how many of those 8's and 9's on the pop report are the same card that has been resubbed looking for a bump?

LOL. This rebuttal may be more lame than the fake rip itself. OKAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!image

That's a good point-- I never thought about guys cracking '86 Sportflics, but with a card like this I imagine some of that might take place.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen this card come up for a while either. Makes you wonder how many times one or two cards have been cracked in order to inflate the pop reports by such a magnitude.

Just curious if anyone knows the story on the 1986 Yount Sportflics with the Yankee logo. What happened with this card that makes it so rare? Does anyone know if they were released in packs?

    Thanks
    Jeff
