No pricing on CardPricer or VintageCardPrices for that card.

Hard to say, but be advised that it's very, very likely that the card is a sheet cut.

If I had to guess I'd say that card would sell on an average day for $800
  • I saw that a psa 10 topps sold for around $1,800 but this is opc and a gem mint. I heard that there are no gem mint psa 10 opc cards.

And there's a very good reason for that.

As a rule, be very leery of OPC's that land in a BVG 9.5 holder. Unless, of course, you don't mind sheet cuts. Some guys don't care, and that's perfectly fine, but if you tend to lean away from sheet cuts this is (probably) not the card for you.

  • whats the value if its a sheet cut and if it isn't sheet cut?

I heard that there are no gem mint psa 10 opc cards.

That is incorrect. I've personally submitted two 1975 OPC cards that came back PSA 10, and two other 1973 OPC cards that came back PSA 10, too. All four cards were pulled from wax packs.

I think he meant no 75 munson opc in psa 10. He had another thread asking for SMR and POP.

Put it on ebay and see, what confuses me is you are asking for the PSA SMR price for a Beckett graded card.

    Good for you.

From my experience with 1970s OPC cards in high-grade BVG holders, I would think that there is an extremely high likelihood that it is sheet cut.

If you send it in the BVG holder on a crossover form, and PSA crosses it to PSA 9 or PSA 10, I'll give you ten bucks.

Was the buyer happy with it?

I had a few OPCs in BVG holders, I'd say most of them were sheet cut!

Here's the only old scan I could find:

Listen to the advice you're being given. The Bench is most probably a sheet cut. PSA would never cross a BVG 9.5 to a 10 and would look very carefully at a BVG 9.5 OPC card. The cut is so different between a wire cut card and a knife or laser cut card that it would have no chance to cross.

In that case I think you should completely ignore the helpful advice that everyone here has tried to offer you and try to get the card in a PSA 10 holder. NOTE- your chances of success will increase significantly if you crack the card out of the current holder before submitting.

    Good luck!image

How'd the 2nd sale of your fake Brooks Robinson card go? You got NARU'ed shortly after it's sale, so I'm guessing it didn't go well. image

  • So if i crack it out and submit it to psa it will greatly increase its chances of crossing over. Whta if I put down min grade of 10?

I'd like to summarize this whole thread:

    vezina: What's a BVG 9.5 '75 OPC Bench worth
cu board: Not sure but it's almost certainly sheet cut.
vezina: What's it worth in PSA 10?
cu board: There's a reason it's in a BVG holder. PSA doesn't grade sheet cut cards.
vezina: I think I'll send it to PSA and get it in a 10 holder.

Dude, Are you freaking dense? You're a crook. You tried to sell a fake/trimmed Brooks Robinson RC on these boards and when you did sell it on ebay you were NARU'd. You advertised a PSA 10 Kobe Bryant RC while using a RAW picture of the card, yet your description said you would be getting a PSA 10 slabbed Kobe Bryant Topps Chrome card, and sure enough, you got negged because you sent the buyer a RAW bryant card.

Noone wants to help you out, and even when they do, you don't want to listen to what anyone is saying. Get your a$$ off these boards, The good people are sick and freaking tired of crooks like you. You're a freaking BUM!

It's a charming variation of a CU staple, which is the 'guess the grade' threads. These usually go as follows"

OP: "What do you think this card would grade?"
CU Poster 1: "Probably a seven, there appears to be snow on the surface."
    OP:"Yeah, that's my scanner."
CU Poster 2: "Probably a 7, the upper right corner looks soft."
OP: "Yeah, but it looks OK in person."
CU Poster 3: "Probably a 7, the registration looks off."
OP: "Yeah, I need to adjust the resolution on my scanner. So, any other opinions?"

  • what is the difference between bvg and bgs?Does that mean if i send in a vintage card it gets a bvg holder? I thought bvg was more lenient and had different grading scales.
  • MBMiller25MBMiller25 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭
BVG stands for Beckett Vintage Grading
BGS stands for Beckett Grading Service

BVG is for cards pre 1980 and does not come with sub grades for centering, corners, edges and surface.

BGS graded cards do have subgrades for the four categories above.

    Hope that helps.
