I liked it better when the price was set and didn't move based on spot prices. At least you could plan on what might happen, but now it will eliminate the chance of a PM bargain. IOW's the margin is now baked into the cake.

Well, I'm gonna sacrifice a chicken, and the neighbor's dog, to get gold up to $1500 the day before my UHR arrives on my doorstep! image

Why should the Mint get nervous? They set the new policy to avoid problems and complaining from customers.

They are able to reprice each Thursday based upon the previous week's spot. So will there be weeks where
gold flies up and a bargain could be had? Probably.

Not really sure what they'll do if 10,000 or so UHR were ordered yesterday and gold shoots way up before
they can deliver on them. They wrote something in the new policy about "locking" in your price the day you order
    didn't they?

I would guess that if your order states "in stock and reserved" that they can't change the price. If you are back-ordered, it could change.
