What would you pay for a PCGS certified 1793 half cent, PO1...barely identifiable, but nice (if that can be said for such a low grade.)

    What I would pay and what the market price is are two different things.

    I don't like very low grade material. Therefore I wouldn't pay any more than a couple humdred dollars with the expectation that I could flip it for a $100 profit.

    The market is probably more like $1,200 or $1,500 and that might be too low. You have collectors who are looking for a "filler." And you have those who are building the "poorest graded" set on the registry. Those two factions make the market.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
