    That's why I didn't purchase it but figured it wouldn't last long.

    Nothing wrong with that set. The bars are marked. I use to own one of these sets.

    I would think something like that would go for more because silver in general is selling for more. Plus it has the original case, etc which I would have thought would increase the value a bit.

    Looks like equivalent to a dollar store item to me. Just has a generic look. The red piece which the silver resides in is probably a felt like cover piece of plastic like they use to package generic knifes & Jewelry.

    Plus its gold plated. I don't care for gold plated silver or painted silver.
