Here is a link to some similar autos....actually even better than those.

I would say the Ruth is no good and the Gehrig was signed by his wife. I think the other one is a Mathewson, and I am afraid that does not look any good to me either.

I'm no expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. So take my opinions for what it's worth, I hope it helps.
    Looking for Carl Willey items.

weird that they would sign at those angles.
  • MooseDogMooseDog Posts: 1,949 ✭✭✭
Tedw9 is spot on on the Gehrig. That's signed by his wife.

The other two are "not a chance in hell".

  • The seller that has those fake cut sigs is always pulling some type of scam to get rid of some hunk of junk he has stumbled upon. Last year, he had some old looking piece of fabric/jersey he claimed came from Babe Ruth's jersey(approx. 8x10 inch piece), and that a doctor had cut it from Ruth's jersey when he treated Babe for some injury. Total bull.. He's just another one of those Ebay sellers to stay away from.

If StantheMan says anything about autographs, just believe it and move on!

Lets see a BIN of almost 2k and the seller accepts an offer of 750.00.

    Geez I wonder why?

    lol

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • Is this dude not with us any more?

He hasn't been around since his Frank Hayes authentic auto card thread was pulled along with his eBay auction for the same card that he said he wouldn't sell if it was a fake auto.

I don't believe he is welcome here anymore. Or so I've heard.
  • slantycouchslantycouch Posts: 1,704 ✭✭✭
    He is no longer here.

My first clue was I sent two PM's which were not returned. He was always great with PM's and I'm sure he would speak up if he could.

Edited to say that to the best of my knowledge he is alive, but banned from CU.
  • Edit in case he really meets his demise.
  • slantycouchslantycouch Posts: 1,704 ✭✭✭
I can tell you he's alive and I assume NOT expecting money for his loved ones.

Edit: if you want to throw me a few bucks for my knowledge, I'd be happy to accept.
  • The picture is definitely not authentic, those are not dead feet... FAKE!!!
  • Not to pile on since he isn't here, but he is also on the banned bidders list for CCSA.

I might have my facts wrong on this, but isnt Coaches Corner pretty suspect when it comes to Auto's themselves?
  • WinPitcherWinPitcher Posts: 27,726 ✭✭✭
If anyone needs to get into contact with Brian they can simply make a donation to MS via
his sig line. It goes straight to his paypal account so I'm sure he will reply to any messages left there.

He then assured me he sends it on to MS.

    <eyeroll>

    Steve

    Good for you.

this is only a thought, but perhaps he won these gems in a CC Auction; dropped scans here for the board's opinion and since they are bogus he decided not to pay for them and was banned......again, just a thought.

You most definitely do NOT have your facts wrong about CC. Bad, bad news.
