Did old cardboard 2x2's help-along the toning process? I often hear how some coins obtain there great toning due to the fact that they were stored in old National Coin Albums, and W.Redman Albums(?). Did old cardboard 2x2's have a similiar effect?
While I'm thinking of old 2x2's anyone have any pictures of coins with PVC damage due to these?

Coins had a good chance to stay white in 2x2s.
Ive had some for almost 40 years.
I've scratched a couple coins because of those !@#$ staples though.
Not sure I'd call it "helping"

Hopefully, by now, you've learned the proper technique for removing coins from "stapled" 2x2's? Right?

The best way to avoid a staple scratch is to pierce the cello along the edge of the coin with a toothpick and remove the coin.
