could be anything or nothing but i drive by their headquarters about once or twice a week and saw an escort (car, fellas) and two limos filled with dark suits pulling into eBay Park this morning.

gives us some humor as to what they might be up to before this gets poofed

I think they're having a lunch special at the Brass Rail!

For those that are unfamiliar with the Sunnyvale/Mtn View area of California, the Brass Rail is a restaurant/bar that could be translated into the "Brass Dancing Pole"!

They are investigating a piece of toast with Barak Obamas face on it that was recently sold by eBay CEO. Apparently, the purchaser had a MSN Live discount of 30% and is going to resell it to Al Sharpton for a "Pay to Play" seat on PayPal's Fraud Investigation team.

They were all Power Sellers, some of whom had received their first negative feedbacks but were refused the right to leave negatives to the buyers warning others. Others had over 200 auctions pulled and destroyed for not showing the full reverse slab pictures of their coins. Still others had sold high-dollar items to unscrupulous buyers who'd returned the items, only to have the boxes full of stones, then did chargebacks with PayPal. In turn PayPal had refunded their money, leaving the sellers with no product and no money. Each brought their attorneys, promising to put eBay execs into litigation for the next 15 years.

Expect eBay fees now to triple in order for eBay to recover their legal fees. Chinese sellers are now given free listings and are exempt from any rules others must follow, to bolster the number of listings, (although it's believed that rule has already been going on.) Power Seller FVF discounts will no longer be given to US sellers, and their fees will double if DSR's are not kept at 4.9 levels. Buyers no longer will have to pay for their items until they've received them. And if you no longer wish to sell on eBay, you'll be fined $2 a day until you list something.

What you missed was the black helicopter dropping money out the doors afterwards. Ebay has just been declared a Bank, and Big Ben sent in the posse to get them to sign over the rights to Wall Street.

Actually, I heard that Ebay is going to launch a new Coin Grading Service, and the 'suits' arriving in the Limos, are the top graders from PCGS, NGC and Anacs.

Ebay lured them away by giving them huge signing bonuses, stock options and all the Beanie Babies they could carry.

Rumor has it that even Al Hagar tried to get in but Ebay had sense enough to stop him at the doors.

Another rumor has their coin grading headquarters in China.

They still haven't decided on a name, so if anyone has a good one, please let them know....

Obviously, they are working out plans to request some federal taxpayer bail out monies for PayPal. Limos and private jets are membership requirements for that club.

My guess is that it has to do with today's announcement of Amazon not honoring PayPal's "bill me later" feature. "Bill Me Later" was some sort of company that Amazon had a 10% stake in once upon a time. Then PayPal bought it.

My guess is that the visit by the VIP suits was one last high-stakes brinksmanship (read: attempted extortion of truckloads of cash)...prior to the termination of this agreement.

I have never understood "Bill Me Later". On the other hand, I have never understood why one would want to pay high interest rates when one can use a little planning to avoid that.
