I want to say sorry to all....

the guys that did not receive their secret santa gift in time for Christmas. I said this before but the reason I started the exchange so early this year, was to avoid this kinda garbage. There was really no reason / excuse for some guys not getting their gifts in time.

It really makes me quite upset that some of the guys ripping secret santa gifts from someone else, didn't take the time to make sure their recipient got their's in time.
Imo that really sucks!

To the guys that did not receive, plese update me, whether by thread or via pm to let me know when / if you actually do receive your gift.

Sorry again and Merry Christmas

Matt

  • I posted sometime back that money talks and B*** S*** walks, will we did have a/some B*** S****** sign up and then not come through. We had a person sign up that was in very poor health make sure his gift was sent. My you RIP knowing your gift was sent.
  • My complaint is the opposite. My santa sent my gift really early and I had to friggin wait a month to open it. I usually lack that type of self control.

  • I think this was a great thing to do for Christmas. I'm not sure if my present arrived or not, it's probably waiting for me to bust it open tomorrow.

But whether it's there or not, I'm happy about being able to be a secret Santa. I felt so good sending my gift. It's a great thing for the season, and a great thing for CU. There's no reason to let late mail or late Santas spoil the fun.

Cheers Matt and Tonya, I wish you and everyone here a Merry Christmas.

    Matt,

Nothing for you to be sorry about. You did a great job with the cooridnation which I am sure must have taken a decent amount of time. I applaud you for doing the secret santa exchange and I am already looking forward to next year!

    Three Cheers for Matt!!

Matt, you did an excellent job. This was my first year participating. To those who didn't receive anything, sorry to hear that. Please pm your address and I will get something out to you. As it turns out, I was Tim's Secret Santa and this Christmas is just not the same.

My Santa wasn't very good to me either (I only got some junk rack packs and some random commons thrown into a box at the last minute) but I'm glad my recipient did really enjoy his. image

But at least I did get someone else (the one that sent me the free 1990 Fleer b-ball; yes, it's dirt cheap but what counts is that it was something I could actually use) as a "bonus secret Santa" so to speak and my wife did get me four 1972 PSA 7 graded cards (Yaz IA, Morgan, Carlton, and the FISK ROOKIE!!!!) as well as a NINTENDO WII!!!!! image So all in all, I still had quite a Christmas even if my secret Santa wasn't very good to me this year. image

I didn't receive a package but I did get a nice e-mail from Josh (illini) with an update as to why I didn't. And he even sent me $25 to my PayPal account to make up for it. It's the holidays and these things happen. Packages get lost in the mail. I'm sure the card Josh bought for me will show up and I will get it eventually. No worries here.

Thanks again, Matt, for organizing this this year. Merry Christmas everybody!

  • People not sending gifts was part of the reason i didnt participate this year . However i believe it would be a
good idea to make sure people will send next year . I for one would like to sign up next year . Its obvious that
people put some serious thought into what they sent and it should be given a big thumbs up...image

I was left high and dry by secret santa but would still like to thank Lawnmowerman for putting in all the leg work. I did enjoy seeing the scans and creativity of the board members.

  • jswietonjswieton Posts: 2,870 ✭✭✭
I still havn't got mine. And my santa never contacted me stateing it was going to be late. However, Matt told me that my santa contacted him and said that it might be late becuase of bad weather. It is just disapointing becuase when my guy I was sending to hadn't recieved his yet a few days befor xmas do to some shipping mix up. I was willing to send him a new gift and overnight it to him so he would have it in time. My guy eventualy recieved his first gift. The point is there is always some way to get a package to arive on time. I guess I can just sit here and view everyone elses. I have to admit it would have been nice to rip when everyone else was ripping. I guess its like the old saying "no good jesture goes unpunished." image
  • I've said it numerous times during this Santa thing.

Wow I feel like some of these comments are comming from small children, "I didnt get this, I didnt get that, my gift was not what I wanted" Rember the spirt of the holidy. I also have always believed its better to give than recieve.

Matt, I think you did an excellent job with the Secret Santa and you did all you can do to make it happen. I'm very sorry to hear that some members dropped the ball which caused other members to not receive gifts in time for Xmas. That's very sad that members would commit to something like this and totally drop the ball. Of course a package could have been lost too, so we'll have to wait and see if the members make good on what happened.
