Might be legit....But I wouldn't touch it. The guy that bought the 33 Ruth 6.5 has purchased a total of $500 in computer equipment and not even bid on another card.
Read the description on the Ruth where he describes the wrong card and yet doesn't cancel the auction.

Plus the card sold within about 2 hours of it being listed.
... Too many comments from this seller concerning resubbing cards to attain higher grades .... (Big Money Left on the Table?)
... Terrible photos of Big Ticket items ... (Common Sense?)
... Misspelled words ... Ebay Power Seller with 100% Possitive Feedback ---- Full item coverage with PayPay and $2,000 Ebay Guarenteed! (computer wiz, even if foreign, should know to use a spell-checker, especially for something permanent, as in his "about Me" section!

... Approved Bidders List? ... asking for email addresses? ... (For the purpose of solicitation outside eBay maybe?)
... 123Sliders' comment about the 33 Goudey Ruth card ... (purchased by a guy that previously and coincidentally only bid on computer items!)
All in all, I'm leaning towards staying as far away from this guy as possible ... but who knows, maybe he's legit! ..... NOT!
He has only been a member for 6 months, padding his feedback with garbage.
Thats all I need to see. Sure there is a 1% chance the guy has the card or is selling it for someone, but the feedback and scans are garbage and worthless.
So what exactly does that mean as far as this auction is concerned? Is the guy just a clever scammer, or is the guy legit, and all the "big boys" with the registry know about the auction so the seller didn't even care to put much thought into the auction figuring the card was clearly advertised and known already.
Geez it would pain me terribly to admit that WinPitcher was right.

You got that right - like inventing the slinky or the pet rock, or developing Pokemon and the Pokemon cards, and how about Beany Babies which is probably the outright most pathetically high priced ridiculous collectible I've ever seen in my life.

Good grief Steve - The fact that he might be interested in baseball cards? And here you were just beginning to gain my respect - now you'll have to start all over again.
The other part that bothers me is why put the reserve at around $10,000? You OK after it hits that? If this is legit, it is the worst run auction ever. I still say not a chance.
The best pitch to start a hitter off with is always strike one.
He said I could bid, but that I needed to follow his link (to rarecardtrader.com which then has a link to PSA) and register. I don't see where there is an option to register. I'm happy to do so, but I'm curious as to what extra assurance this gives him? I'm just wondering why he's so adamant about that. He doesn't seem to give credence to my long-standing account and 100% feedback on eBay.
<<< First of all because of the value of this card all bidders must email me before bidding, with you Name, Number, and E-mail address. No new bidders will be accepted within 72 hours of the closing of this auction and all approved bidders must have made at least one bid prior to 72 hours remaining of this auction to remain on my approved bidder list, because at that point im only accepting bids from my approved bidders list. >>>
Even if the auction is legit, in my opinion no one in his right mind would place terms like this on an item like this, without having at least one shill bidder who has already placed a bid. Nobody is gonna steal this card, although the shill bidder might win it, and it may appear that someone got a bargain.

Why wouldn't he mention that in the auction description for a card such as this? - I would think it would have to help.
Steve
<< <i>mention what? That he has cards on the registry? I dunno, why don't you email him and ask?

i shouldn't have to ask - and i still think this auction smells.

Hope it all works out for both.

Why does this guy claim every card is undergraded? I call it fluff. See above line.
It's like the guy who claims everyone of his cards was hi end and add 20 plus signs to the grade.
Is it legit? Seems to me it is. Will I be buying any of these items? NO.

The Reg-page leaves me clueless.
He has either got the card and is selling it, OR he is being
held hostage by somebody who has access to his Registry
page.
I don't recall seeing a worse quality legitimate listing for
such a card, but I suppose it is possible.
I'd like to do that.
My emails with him have been thru ebay.

He probably invented that drink called "Tang" - that explains the wealth. LOL
Now, is it the same guy auctioning the card?
That is the 64 thousand dollar question.

of buying/selling club.
Like the 64 Standups of a few years ago, some sellers make it so difficult when selling.
The guy did try, he put his name on paper on the card, even that was questioned though lol

Well, he did retire so perhaps he just isn't interested in the cards any longer? ...a total guess.
Storm's assertion of a hijacked account can't be entirely ruled out - i guess the hijacker would have had to of hijacked his PSA account password.

He is not using the ebay pre approved format, or is he?
