45 minutes at the coin counting machine.........

I'll admit I'm a pack rat and mini hoarder.

When the mint announced their Last Call Sale it made me look at what was lying around the basement.

I figured any chance of bison nickels, various state quarters, 1996 Kennedys and 2002 Sacs ever being worth more than face just got pushed back another 5-10+ years so it was off to the coin counting machine.

45 minutes and $6235.70 later this is one pack rat who is a little lighter on his feet!

Now lets see..........I have just enough to buy 124 boxes of 2009 Abraham Lincoln cents or 12 of the discontinued 1/2 oz. gold buffalo $25 proofs.

I think I'll go with the gold............less weight to carry to the basement.

Did you go to a CoinStar machine? Wouldn't that have cost you around $500 in fees?

Dang, I thought I used to be bad.

I don't think I ever went over $4,000 and it was usually much closer to $1000.

A couple years ago I lucked into a deal on a Glory WR-200 Coin Rolling Machine, pre-owned but recently serviced and only 25 miles away in Tampa.......$1000.00

It rolls 40 rolls per minute.....all denominations.

I think new they are around 17- $18,000.00 image

I'll bet you used it on all those Washington dollars that were only worth a dollar.imageimage

  • Luckly the bank doesn't charge for the use of the machine if you have an account.

    $4,000 consisted of a 2,000 coin bag of each P and D 2002 Sacs.
They had some small potential for resale until this latest mint release.

I was kinda hoping the machine was going to kick out a cliped coin or one with a missing clad layer but no such luck.
Did get two nice canvas bags and got to see a few early toners go by.........

This wasn't anywhere near as bad as when I had to run 20,000 George Washingtons through after pullng out 500 smoothies with a special thanks to Sumorada.
