Poll: How much silver BULLION do you currently own?

Im talking about bars, rounds, and 90% junk. Do not include your whitman folder of frankies and washies please. Stick to just bullion.

  • I have 100 oz. of 10 oz. bars, and 60 oz. of eagles, pandas, and koalas. I know it's small compared to othe posters but I've only been a buyer for the last year. I started with 6 oz. of first spouse coins I thought they were going to be a hot numistic trend. Oh well their gold.

Voted. Bars and rounds counted only. I've got two levels in the poll to move up to hit my goal. image
  • Poll doesn't go nearly high enough. image

I think there are many around here at well over 10,000 ounces.

Several at many multiples of that number I'm sure.

Wow, wish I were in that boat. I have a measly 764 oz but I only started hoarding a few months ago. Sold all the silver I bought @ $5/oz when it was close to $20.
    Its all relative

It's my dillusional dream to own a ton of silver but I'm way, way short of this mark. and unfortunately, I will never get there.

I would love to say to people "I have a ton of silver!!" and actually mean it! (of course they wouldn't actually think I owned 2000 lbs of it).

2,000 troy pounds would be 24,000 troy ounces. That's a whole lot of silver!

People that actually have a ton, or even several tons, just don't go around saying "I have X tons of silver."

Nothing delusional about it at all, it just takes time. Some of us were fortunate enough to start building the hoard back when silver was just a fraction above $4 an ounce. I bought my first 100 ounce bar for the whopping total of $425.00 and I paid a premium over spot for that.

  • None...it will be absolutely worthless in the long run.........
I also notice Sinclair never speaks of it as any worth.

Possibly....100-1000 years from now or longer. But what will definitely be worthless within 100 years will be the US dollar. Absolutely.

I'm more concerned about the next 10-20 years rather than 50-100 years away. Silver will not become worthless in the next few decades.

You probably haven't noticed because you haven't been reading Sinclair very often or very closely. He in fact is quite bullish on silver, but gold is his main game. That's because gold functions as a central bank currency and has a role that silver does not have in these types of times. That's why gold has been outpeforming silver since March...and why JS sticks more with gold. But he has admitted multiple times that silver will trade at far higher values down the road...basically moving up along with gold. It could even outperform gold for short periods. But he has also said why he feels the gold price will eventually maintain 80-90% of its future peak value while silver may give up a large % of its gains.

If 'the long run' means beyond our life time, then perhaps there is a slight chance....

but if 'the long run' means anytime before we die, then with all due respect, I don't know what you're thinking about.

I stand corrected then. I have only been reading what he is saying for a year.

I think you may be confusing silver with the dollar.

Well using your calculations I currently have a half ton of silver which is equivalent to 12,000 troy ounces. I've only got 6 troy ounces of gold along with numerous collector gold coins as I view Silver as a much better value than Gold, I also own 200 ounces of Palladium and 4.5 ounces of Platinum.
