question about possible fake slab?

With the recent thread about fake slabs I thought I would get mine out and check them out. One of the markers for a fake NGC slab is that the - in between the serial number has straight edges instead of slanted edges like on genuine slabs. I come accross a couple of slabs that have the straight edges but they are the type that has the shorter ANA logo on the back that they made around the year 2000 or so. Do I have anything to worry about? sorry I don't do pictures. Also there doesn't seem to be a lot of info about fake slabs only post conplaining of them. Is there a site that gives more detailed info about fake slabs. I can grade coins fairly well but I'm not expert on authenicating coins and slabs.

Agree ... especially if you purchased your slabs years ago....the fake slab is a fairly recent event.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
..............no problem! just make sure the slab has a CAC sticker! surely a counterfeit slab wouldn't get a sticker.................
The name is LEE!
If you're really worried about it, borrow a camera from a friend, take a few pics and email them to the slabber that slabbed your coins. NGC for sure will me nice enough to examine the photos. PCGS looked at one of mine a while ago as well. Both companies have excellent customer service departments.
