How many did you get and when did you order them? I know someone here is doing all the math to help figure out mintages. Thanks!

  • I received (2) 1/4 oz plat unc as ordered. I still have (1) 1/4 oz plat unc not yet received from a different order.

Received the 2007 platinum anniversary set and (4) AGE unc set.

Still waiting on Buffalo proof set. I had it 3 days after its original release but sent it back. Stupid because all the coins were great looking.

I wish they were not still selling the 2007 plat anniv set but got it anyway because I like the coins.

I am also done with first strike labels.

The mint used the words FIRST STRIKE on purpose when they struck the HR 2009 coin.

There can only be ONE FIRST STRIKE.

    Lets face some reality here.

PCGS created this for $$$$ for them. Not us.

As the years roll on collectors want what they want. But labels and packaging! Give me a brake.

A couple of nights ago I found a silver dime in my change. It was exciting because thats how it all started.

I am heading out to put the coins in vault. Too bad but I don't keep any coins at home.

  • Platinum coins were ordered on 10/21 around 2:30 pm. I received them today.

    Cool! Thanks!

And I totally agree that First Strike and other labels are entirely worthless. I'm amazed how many people fall into this.

These will be extremely desirable in the future. They represent a very small population that is identifialbe die maker within a miniscule population. It will be a highly sought after variant in my opinion. Given the fact that she is holding a sword makes it a good story. It just might take a hundred years to be recognized for what it is. I wouldn't have sent any of the these sword gash errors back

Are those photo's all of the same coin?

If not, I'm beginning to wonder exactly what that might be as its very unusual for a planchet defect to occur in exactly the same spot on multiple coins.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Well, I can state with 100% certainty that it's very possible. I received (2) of them out of 5 coins. I returned one and kept one. I'll post a pic when I get a chance to photo it. I think it's a case of a clipping of platinum stuck in the die itself.

These are not going to be worth squat. There were many of these struck making 70s very hard to find this year. If anything, this "error" will drive up the prices of the 70s.

With Liberty bearing the scars of shame that Herr Bush brought upon this country?

    Yes. That makes sense.

Close, but I prefer the more politically correct term of "King George, the tyrant"

I sent all 4 back for credit.

PCGS is ignoring the gash, as one forum member(can't remember his name) got an MS70 on his elbow gash coin!!!!

When are you going to "wake up and smell the roses?" Most of us realize that the First Strike Label is nothing but a marketing tool, but if you are planning on selling your coin in the future, it's worth the extra $12 to get the label. Just compare the non to the FS eBay completed auctions... big difference in a lot of cases. (Most certainly more than the $12)
