How to melt .999 silver?

Has anyone done this before? Lets assume for example I wanted to melt down foreign bullion coins of .999 fineness and pour them into 100 oz ingot molds. Do I need to use some type of flux, or is the metal pure enough? What about scaling? Any help is appreciated.

I use an 110v furnace with graphite molds.....
Place the mold in the furnace.... place the amount of silver you wish the bar to be in the mold...
Run the temp. up to 2100F for 10 min. then turn off the furnace and let cool for 4 hrs.
Presto.... Perfect weight bar[s] WITHOUT the danger of pouring hot metal....
And their all shiny without the fumes of using flux!!
Keep on stack'n!!

Why would you want to do this? Those unmarked bars would be difficult to sell without paying for an assay. Also, a bullion coin carries a higher premium than a large silver bar.

Silver bullets only work for werewolves.

use silver shot for ease always knowing it is .999 fine.
otherwise get out the blowtorch and get dangerous.

I've seen it on about a zillion horror movies and we know how accurate they are.
