Yeah, not to downplay this fine forum, but it's just not the same. It was really fun to kick back with a few cocktails, post/chat, tell stories, read stories and make deals. There were a LOT of deals made late at night after the juice got flowing that stemmed from conversations in the chat room. Could have gone without some of the drama. I think I bailed out after the Bill debacle. Still not exactly sure what that was all about.
Still, would be nice if we had just some of that energy back here.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. There were some crazy, late nights back then. It was fun, there was a wide cast of characters. Some really good people have gone by the wayside. I don't know the ins and outs of why most people who got banned, were banned, but guessing most probably had to do with not so PC comments and threads. Randy could get a bit crude but that man had a heart of gold. I have wondered for years what happened to his 52 Topps autographed set that he was working on?!?!
I know Randy started selling off his 52 Topps autographed collection. I know he had sold much of it at one time and I lost touch with him soon after and was never sure exactly how much, if any of those autographs he had left.

I really do miss those days. No other board compares as that was an incredible time to be a part of these boards.
Yep, the boards were definitely a place to come and be entertained on a nightly basis back then. There were some characters, both good and bad, but it seemed almost like one big dysfunctional family, with Rube being the crazy uncle with a heart of gold.
