- they've got some issues over there - I've also experienced the slowdowns you mentioned and, additionally, many of their searches turn up invalid pricing numbers/sale dates. Once you zoom in on a particular card in a specific grade, it seems the data is OK but on the wider grid view, of all grades and also, when you search in a set for a specific grade, bad data is coming up. They have known about the issue for weeks and say they are working on it.
In the middle of the night 4:51 AM is when the server is doing all of the auto scripts updating the site, pulling all the new eBay auctions to be approved, updating AMR and totals, etc. There is nothing we really can do about this and try to run these daily functions as early as possible when there is usually no one accessing the site.
thats usually downtime for sites; banking sites etc. very common that they be down or very slow during off hours. I'm not a defender nor proponent of VCP, but hows it running now, during normal hours ?
I've dropped my VCP account but signed back up last night since I need some data. I have to say the site was running within acceptable speeds. I've been critical of VCP in the past but the site was running fine last night.
Just wanted to say that the 24 Hour membership is up for existing Limited members to access the site. You would need to log in and click on Upgrade to VIP and the 24 Hour membership will be there for you to choose. Keep in mind that it is a Paypal only feature and does not take credit cards.
I must first say that I have never used VCP. I do not know Bobby. I do not have a dog in this hunt. BobbyVCP seems to address every VCP post on this board. No matter how vitriolic the posts in the thread get, he responds. Either Bobby is an absolute masochistic glutton for punishment, or he is really trying to make VCP work well as a reliable product. Common sense leads me to believe the latter. Don't get me wrong, I am not laying out my cash every month, so I do not feel that frustration. It seems like a lot of people find the site very useful. VCP could become a staple of the hobby. I would hate too see it go away. But with all of the complaints, is that the direction VCP is headed? I sure hope not.

We are trying everything in our power to make the site better for everyone. I am always available for the most part to answer questions or to problem solve. I am honestly answering all questions to the best of my ability and with the information I have been told by the people working at VCP on a daily basis. I too get very frustrated and want everything to run as smooth as possible. We do get some people that complain and we try to address those issues. On the other hand we get a lot more people telling us how great their user experience is on the site that do not post in this forum. I am sure that we will be able to tackle these snags and get everything working as fast as possible. Right now we are looking at other options because the lease on our main server is about to expire in a couple of weeks and we are searching for a better solution.

Better meaning cheaper and slower with continued slowness complaints, or better meaning faster with slowness complaints a thing of the past.

Same old song and dance, now send them more $$$. Bobby is planning another Asia trip and needs the cash.

I'm so Happy that I no longer give them my money. Quit giving it to them for that reason plus that fact that it/is not
user friendly.
