A Chinese lady actually told me this. I remember she said the years too, but can't remember them.

Anyway, --for awhile the Chinese government took the silver out of their coins and didn't tell their citizenry nor announce it to the world. Pre communist times I believe. Anybody know the story?--

As for what the chinese lady said about the government taking silver out of the coins, who knows she could be right. Maybe she broke a panda in half and found a copper inside.
