It's 20 Livres from British occupation of Guadeloupe (1810-1816) - center plug punched out of a Spanish Colonial 8 Reales. You can still see one of the castles bleeding through the design (a part of the Spanish coat of arms).

Steph, I dont think that statue is fire opal. Fire opal is almost always either red, orange, or yellow in color and very transparent.

Here is about 4 grams worth of gold nuggets found by me in a creek in west central Indiana with a gold dredge.

The 2 gemologists that I brought it to said that it is. I am getting an appraisal prepared for me, it should be ready next week.

It may not look as translucent because it is over 1 1/2" think by 2 3/4" tall.
It weighs in at a hefty 47 cts.
So maybe being that dense it is not as translucent looking

But, that's just my guess

I took an image of my pedant for comparison but it is a cabochon.

Notice your displays the "play of color"? A fire opal does not.
