It's hard to say without a picture of the reverse, but I would lean toward brown just based on the obverse. However, that does not detract at all from the beauty of the coin. It's a work of art! The picture is fantastic too!
I like studying to die striations around 1916. The coin is so well struck and preserved, you have a fine example of a true matte suface, and many diagnostics both recorded in the literature and not. I would truly love to know how many 1916s left the mint, let alone survived in that level of preservation. I'm sure it qualifies as a rarity, if on a conditional basis. A pop 2-0 in any color is just about as rare as you can get. And the chances of someone tampering with that coin are slim (who manipulates a coin to look brown?). So you may be looking at one of the finest examples of the mint and mother nature working together in existance! Pretty cool.....
