Obvious eBay "Self shill"?

Look at the names of the seller and winning bidder. A quick glance at winner's previous purchases reveals a mishmash of German stamps and coins, none of which is more than $22.00. Something smells rotten here!

The similarity between the id's *mr dor,* & *dor ing* is strange but a buyer of lots of low price stuff that all of a sudden buys a $200 thing is not exactly proof of shennigans.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • Well, I sent him a message:

    Dear mrdor352,

When will this coin be back up for sale again? It is very obvious that you bought it from yourself. What price are you looking to get on it?

    Phil

    His response an hour later:

    Dear metalman109,

I gave a second chance offer of $221.00 to the next highest bidder, that ends monday at 2:00 pm. If he does not take it I will offer it to you at $200.00 if that is acceptable. Regards Marty

Ok, what would you guys do? I like the coin at $200, but not so sure im into this guy's unethical shenanigans.

    Help clean up ebay.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
  • Not that there is any doubt, but he pulled the same sh## in his other auctions. The shills coded ebay id is r***8. What an a-hole.
  • But would any of you guys buy a coin from a guy such as this?

If it was a coin that rarely comes to sale, maybe, but a common coin I would buy elsewhere.

There are many other sellers to buy from.

LOL that would have been funny if he had gotten into an intense bidding war to ridiculous prices and then win

  • The question is - Is he ballsy enough to file a NPB complaint against himself to get the fees back?

  • He only does it to draw out the highest proxy bid. So in essence they aren't true auctions. He should be booted from ebay. he's a POS in my opinion.
