Mad Marty Sample Slab Charity Auction IS BACK! and it's over already!!
The new slabs have arrived! I'm putting up 10 for charity auction tonight. These are French Mariannes from the Universal Expo in 1889 and 1878. There are only 5 of each!
Our charity this time is the "Shoes for Kids Project" out of Port Charlotte, Florida. This group provides shoes for homeless kids. You guys have never let me down yet. Remember there are only 5 of each of these and that's it!!!
Here they are!!

If you want this one here is the link to E-Bay, $75 free shipping.

It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Shouldn't you be calling these minor-error slabs as well?

with an "authenticated" hologram right under it.
I love the OP's gift. Wish ANACS would get their act together.

They are samples! Even NGC (when they did the samples) made errors...

As far as you ending the auction when you get 5 bids...that's odd. This is not a 'snipe' situation, then? I'm in for one of each, right now. To heck with the spending freeze.
I want authenticated french medals that are not intended for autentification. From a madman. Or rather...MadMarty.
I'm not sure how you are going to end the auction early as well as sell the items. Does it work that way?
[edit] *slap* Oh right. Yep.

I agree. I dont get that logic. Let them sell for what they sell for which might really be in the $100-150 range each.

Well there you go!
They misspelled AUTHENTIFICATED!
The name is LEE!
No more NCG, now we need a PCGS coin, then PCI, then SGS, I would love to have a SGS MS-70 to add to the Marty collection.

Hey, I want to own one of each, limited edition, some will just have to miss out!
What happened is I wanted to do a fixed price auction and screwed up and did a regular auction. Don't worry there will be others, and some of those like the HK-222s will run the course! I am leaving out of town Sat, so if they are paid for before then I can ship them right out!
Again thanks!!!
After all... we all love you, your low-ball set and your wild weenie...
Coins that is...Registry...
Now go put some shoes on those kid's feet...
PS...our best regards to that crazy chicken!!!
This may be my first item from the insane Martin. As these are french tokens, I guess that would be "In Seine".
(I did not have it in my heart to buy a low-ball morgan and crack it out. I wanted to leave those for registry folks.)
This close similarity of the French and US Mint medal (and/or proposed design) is quite interesting.
A comparison of the 1878 French Expo medal obverse design versus the William Barber 1878 $5 pattern shortly before his death.
