And it's Walnut time again!!!----My total pounds so far is 6,735.

Not much detecting as long as I can pick these nuts up.

Holy chit... three tons of walnuts?????? Dang, where do you live? Are they wild or cultivated? We used to go out in the woods as kids when 'nut' season began.... was a big deal collecting them for the holidays... Cheers, RickO

As of today my Walnut total is 11,863. I did get to detect a little on Sunday and found $6.53 at a local football stadium. I was the 2nd person following the holes the 1st guy left.

Are you still getting 13 cent a pound?
My Black Walnut tree finally produced nuts this year(about 2 bushels) but they are junk. All blighted.

They started off at 13 cents per pound and went down to 12 cents. Next Monday they will drop to 10 cents. There is a bumper crop in South Missouri which is dropping the price. The nut meat is not the major product is the shell. They use it for all kinds of sandblasting, especially jet engines. When you pick them up you don't worry about what they look like.

I'd take the time and effort to pick them up if I knew of someone locally that were buying them. It would be worth while to get outdoors and get some exercise.
