What does everyone but SteveK think about this series? lol
  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,048 ✭✭✭✭✭
Okay then, I had a 50,000 word dissertation with in depth analysis on the series with rare and never before discovered information about the teams, but just for that, now I'm not going to post it.

WOW, Dodger fans jumping out of the woodwork...where were you a month ago when you were 5 games under .500? I guess the
same place you will be when the Phillies win it in 5. Do "fans" in LA actually come to the ball park and watch the game..or do the just
    talk on their cell phones?

I have to go with the Phillies in this series.

Imo, they are the better team.
  • Are you kidding me. A team that finished 1/4th of a game over .500 against a team
that almost gave the division away to the Mets, has a starting pitcher that is 782 years old, and
has a clean up hitter that is fatter then the local teams football coach.

This series is a joke image

Oh, and while I'm at it, the series will go 7 games, and the winner will be...............

The AL champion Red Sox, because they will make clam chowda out of either of these "teams".

I guess you're on record for saying they'll give the Rays a series? considering they couldn't beat them head to head when the division was on the line?
    hmph.

but that argument is for another thread.

    Dodger's in FIVE!

    No bandwagon fan here.

I have been a loyal fan since shortly after birth in '68.

I started brainwashing my son around the day he popped out just to make sure the Giant's fans up here in Nor Cal didn't try to corrupt him! Of course, being 5 now, he has no clue who the pictures of guys like Kirk Gibson, Steve Garvey, Steve Sax, etc... on the walls of his room are but he knows they are Dodger's!

Dear Mr Stalin, You never cease to surprise me with your very sarcastic posts.

Lifetime Dodger fan here and I want them to win.

I was born in 1968 and have been going to Dodger games since 1975 and I make sure I take my wife to at least a few game a year. I've been to many opening days and made sure we went to the Boston Dodger game earlier this year at the Memorial Coliseum. We even took our first child to a game when he was just a couple of months old and I've been a strong poster on these boards with my Dodgers support, but I've always been a realistic baseball fan which is why I have yet to post anything serious about the Dodgers winning anything.

Going into the playoffs I felt the Dodgers would play strong against the Cubs and I feel the same against the Phillies. The Dodgers have the best ERA in MLB and their lineup has been totally tweaked by Torre over the last couple of months. All of the Dodgers have stepped up with good defense and timely hitting. I believe the pitchers will keep them in the games and it will be up to the hitters to step up. I woudn't be surprised if it goes 4 games or 7 games...I dunno.

If the Dodgers win, I don't know how they match against the Rays or Sox??? The AL East is stout.....Either way, the Dodgers have a great building block towards next year and I believe they have totally rebuilt their farm system which the Fox ownership completely ruined.

Dodgers are going to blow the Sillies out of the water.

They, chirp, will take them down in 6,

Then, chirp, the Rays (who have taken the Sox down in 4)

will take, chirp, the Dodgers down in 7

That is my story, chirp, and I'm sticking with it.

    Steve

Great pitching duo last night and it looks like anything can happen in this series. Not sure what happened to Lowe last night..He was cruising through the Phillies lineup through 5 innings and seemed to either run out of gas really fast and made a couple of mistakes and the Phillies took advantage as any good team does.

I hope tonight the Dodgers can lleave PhillieTown 1 to 1.

What can't I back up? That the Rays are the better team? All one needs to do is look at the stats and see that
    I am right.

The Rays did win the division, thus in that regard they are the better team.

    Steve
    Good for you.

Big win by the Dodgers last night and they did exactly what they needed to do to get the win and get back into the series. The Dodgers started the game right out of the gate and didn't let off. Also very good pitching by Kuroda and Wade to secure the win. I've never been a big fan of throwing the ball over a hitters head like Kuroda did...I would rather see some hard pitches in really tight to push the batter off the plate and that's what the Dodgers need to do the rest of the series.

    Go Dodgers!

Dodgers for whatever reason had a shot of adrenaline yesterday, but it won't last. Phillies are highly motivated and are definitely a better baseball team. Dodgers have no chance, none, of pulling out this series.

Damm Steve, I wish I knew that yesterday before I wasted my time watching the game. I could have spent more time visiting my new nephew instead.

Don't bother watching tonight's game because the Phils will win - Save your time, do something else, and I'll post here for ya how many runs the Dodgers lost by.

  • Can't believe how the annoucers were rippin' The Phils for walking Manny with first base open. "But it's only the first inning!". As if they are unaware of Manny's post season acomplishments or the fact he has been the hottest hitter in baseball over the past few months. I say walk him (almost) everytime.
