2008 Proof Silver Eagles sold out??

Went to the Mints website to order a couple 2008 silver eagle proofs for my brand spankin new granddaughter and the website says that they are not available. Anyone know if they're done for the year or temporarily shut down?? Searched this group for recent news on this but didn't find any. Thanks.

I read a few weeks ago that the Mint has diverted all silver blanks to the production of the Regular Issue Bullion Silver Eagles.

Supposedly, the Proofs will be back when the silver shortage clears up so that more silver blanks can be produced.

I'm still unclear why the Mint would stop production of the high-margin proofs in order to produce more of the low-margin coins.

Mint suspended sales weeks ago.. Go to the BST and post a WTB... I bet you will find what you need.

Probably cheaper than the mint price as well...

I was able to buy one in person at the Philadelphia Mint's gift shop last Monday.

My apologies, no I didn't, I misread and thought you meant 2008-S Silver Proof Sets.
