Testing my willpower... this is gonna be a loooong week. UPDATE! Cards/Scans are in!

I'm going to try (key word here is TRY) and do something I've heard others do here on the boards.
I had a submission pop late yesterday, and going to try and not go check it out BEFORE it arrives.
Instead, I'm going to wait till it gets here and find out how I did as I pull each card out of the box.

Making this tuffer for me, this was a 36-count ALL Chris Sabo submission. A majority of these cards were
HTF parallels or subsets, so most will be virgin pops. About half had a legit shot at 10's, the rest I knew would be
7's, 8's, or 9's... just wanted an example slabbed for that part of my collection.

Will I make it? ... doubt it, but I'm going to try. Here lately, registered mail coming from CA (to Indiana) takes approx.
7-8 days... so, it will be a long week-end, and a looong next week till they arrive.

I'll be happy to shared a few of the highlights when they arrive.

Wish me luck... I'll let you know if it was worth the wait if I make it.

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

Since that feature has become available, I have NEVER been able to resist looking. I've tried over and over.

Last sub, I waited and waited for them and couldnt take it any more. I logged in and ran out of the room while my wife looked at them. Of course I ended up looking at the list anyway, but I just wanted to amp up the drama.

swartz1.... Well KUDOS to PSA, they got this sub turned around quickly. In fact, the last 3 submissions have come back much quicker
than times in the past. This sub was a $6/per monthly special, and was entered in their system on the 12th, and popped last night on th 25th.
    That's pretty darn fast!

billwaltonsbeard.... you and me both brother! I'm typically hitting that link 2-5 times a day in anticipation. I won't let my wife look, she'll
spill the beans, I know she would!

  • I have a free sub that I was trying to resist looking until it got here. However, since I got the email stating it was received I have been checking every couple minutes for the last week.

    I have zero willpower.

EDIT: I just looked again but forgot that in CA it isn't even 8AM yet.
  • I check all my subs as soon as they pop. I routinely find labeling/mechanical errors. Forcing me to contact Terri Gilbert and ask her to put a shipping hold on my order so they can be corrected. image

Well.. I made it! AND... it paid off! I ended up doing far better than I thought I would.
I knew some had a shot at 10's, but I counted on several being 8's, and some 9's.

    36 cards... I ended up with 17 10's & 12 9's, leaving me with 7 that weren't so much.

I also ended up with 4 that were labeled wrong, so they'll be going back for correction.
4 out of 36??? That's better than 10% they missed... wonder why they just don't read the forms we have to fill out?

I will deff. try to do this again with my next submission. If you can wait it out, it's worth it!

Here are some of the highlights... enjoy!

Nice, I imagine those Star Lines are also impossible 10's. I ate at Long John's every chance I could during that promotion.

Add the Pepsi, the Studio and the O-Pee-Chee...all which seem they would be hard 10's....and an awesome submission.

1990 OPC's said Topps on them? Am I missing something?

Russ - terrific Sabos! Well done - I bet you were stoked to get those back. How many of them were you able to plug directly into your registry? Secondary question - how long is your list that's waiting for slots to be assigned? Mine stands at 19.

TNP777... Yep, I was ecstatic! I was able to upgrade my '90 OPC from a 9 to a 10... but that was it. All the rest go in waiting slots. How many do I have in total waiting right now?

    53!

It takes PSA forever to create those spots! I wonder if anyone else has as many as 53 more slots in queue????
I'm just glad I don't have any competition! I have far more $$ in this collection than I care to think about!

I picked up 5 more 10's on the Bay tonight too... one of them, is a Pop 1.

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!
