Gold back over $900 for how long?

northcoinnorthcoin Posts: 4,987 ✭✭✭✭✭
What a yoyo week it has been for gold. Any views as to whether gold has a floor at $900. Wonder if we will see the promised $1200 benchmark hit in the near future?

  • Anything based on the value of dollar is going to go up IMO, especially w/ the near 1 trillion dollars we are going to spend this month, which the US govt doesnt have.....and they are all going to cut my taxes even further!

As they do this, the value of the dollar declines, as the dollar goes down the price of just about everything goes up.

    Just my .02

Gold is heading back to 1k+ even if not to the once rumored 1500 that was touted a few months ago......

Until the Syndicate arranges for profits to be taken - then the value will plunge once again.

They will repeat this pattern again and again - up, down - up, down, until they have a pile of paper assets that will stretch from here to Uranus.

Are there any new short selling rules affecting gold?

I watched Cramer tonight.....he's telling his followers to get 20% into gold stocks.

When the biggest stock pumper in the World becomes a gold bug......makes ya think.

Why is this off topic? And why should discussion be limited to private messages? Gold prices have
always been discussed here, now there are people making threats unless they move it to PM.
    Does not make any sense.

I missed out on two coins that Jeremy had up for sale the other day. It really annoys me, but I still do not have a snipe program in use on eBay.

Gold is going to be a yo-yo for a while... then settle in at $1k+ for a while... Cheers, RickO

I see gold did slip slightly below $900 today for whatever that is worth. By the way I suspect most of us who purchase gold coins are not making bullion purchases so it is relevant to us what gold is doing in that it impacts the value of our collections.

I agree-It was nice when the metals posts were here. Rather than let it go, the forum police must perform their duties.

Sounds like gold is going up:

    OK,
To be sure we are ON topic....

Will the mint adjust prices of the bullion coins?

Gold still has a BIG spread for the Buffalos, Eagles and Spouse gold coins.

    Platinum as well.

Time to reask the original question. Now a month and a week plus later gold is back to an amount close to $900.00.

So stocks tumble today and gold goes down $20. Strange correlation.
  • northcoinnorthcoin Posts: 4,987 ✭✭✭✭✭
And a month later and almost $200 lower. Who would have expected this?

I didn't, but I recall some others saying it would be quite a bit lower.
Now, the stock market....I didn't expect it to be down as much as it is image
