*sniff* So hard to say goodbye...

I hadn't intended to sell this one; I put it on the Bay as an advertising eyecatcher, at what I thought was an insane price.
Well, someone came along and made a Best Offer that was close enough to the BIN to make me seriously consider it.
I decided to accept the offer. After all, the biggest thrills for me are the chase, acquisition, and photography.
It's been sitting in my safety deposit box for the last 2 years. Time for someone else to enjoy it.
Diebreak heaven. I'll always have the pictures... *sniff*

<< <i>Why would you sell a coin you obviously were absolutely nuts about for $485? I can see selling maybe a $4,000 or $5,000 coin you love because you NEED the money, but $485? Thats not even groceries and gas for 2 weeks! >>
Because there are other things I want in my collection more and selling the coin at $485 results in a profit I'm unlikely to obtain here on the board. The coin catalogs $50 in UNC.

It's hard to make "sacrifices" but if it doesn't fit in your current collecting interest,
I say you did the right thing by letting someone else enjoy it.
<< <i>Do you still have the 1842 3 Rigsbankskilling??? >>
No sorry. I sold that quite some time ago.

I'm sure with your eye you'll find another love soon
That is one extremely nice Danish 2 Skilling coin that you've got there. It's a real shame that you've got to offload it.I had a huge collection of non-British Commonwealth coins, mainly minors, but I was forced to sell them to raise some cash to buy my computer.
I was getting fed up with throwing money away in Internet cafes.I threw away thousands of New Zealand Dollars that way for years.Think of all the banknotes & coins that I could have bought had I been able to buy a computer a few years back.

I'll drink to that buddy! Coins are objects of desire, and it's not as traumatising as it sounds to pass them along to another welcoming house, let alone that it opens a door for a newcomer!
On a sidenote, I have the impression that prices of top class Scandinavian coins have skyrocketed the past year. Probably because I just started to pay attention and be increasingly attracted to them.
