The more specialized you limit your collecting to, the more enjoyable your collecting will be.

Although this may seem counter-intuitive, I completely agree.

We can discuss coins without the price being the first thing mentioned.

The fewer coins you buy, the more fun you'll get from each purchase.

Or in other words... The more patient you are, the more you will enjoy your collection.

The longer you're in this hobby, the more you've kicked your own butt several times over for not buying something when it was offered.

There are only two choices for a coin collector.

    1. To know all there is to know,
    about very little.

    2. To know very little, about
    a great many things.

As for myself, I have now reached the supreme stage
of knowing absolutely everything, about absolutely nothing.image

I have CDO. That's like OCD but it has the letters in alphabetical order, the way they should be.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Nah, you're just dyslexic kranky.

It's okay, don't worry about it. You know that 5 out of 3
people in the US are dyslexic.
