1998 1/2 ounce gold panda brings STRONG money!

Was watching an ebay auction that ended this evening. It was for a very ellusive 1998 1/2 oz gold panda. With a scant mintage just north of 4,100 pieces, it is the single rarest regular issue gold panda by far! It closed at $1,439, or about 3.2x melt. The panda series is alive and well. In 5 years, we may be banging our heads against the wall WISHING we had gotten one of these at this price!
