Here is one way! With all things being equal, in a side by side comparison

Looking at BOTH these pictures, BOTH taken by ME with the same camera, same settings, lighting etc -
would you think that this NGC 66 1962-D is just as nice as my pedigreed PCGS 66 1962-D
and should it therefore, based on what you see here, be a shoe-in to cross at the same exact grade?
Regardless your stance, state your reasons why you think it will or will not cross at the same grade!
BTW, I DO NOT have pix of the reverses on file, however - they're equally matched there as well.
Thanks for your time and opinions!

Edit to add: The hair back from the temple and over the ear seems to be a better strike. Also it seems to me that the bottom of the portrait is a much cleaner strike. Dought if my comments are much help but that is what caught my eye.

<< <i>From the photos I think the NGC coin looks best >>
I once purchased a '83-D Washy in PCGS MS66 to help me sort thru a nice roll.
Of 9 I felt sure were nicer then the slabbed one 2 went 66 and 7 went 65

<< <i>Based on the limited information in the obverse images, I would pick the PCGS-graded coin. There are two reasons for this. The first is the two apparent partial prints on either side of Washington's portrait that are on the NGC-graded coin while the second is the amount of small chatter on the top of Washington's skull also on the NGC-graded coin. >>
I thought that might be a print in the right field on the NGC coin...hadn't noticed the left. I'd still go with the NGC because I think the pits are more distracting. However, two questions:
1) What would PCGS graders think about the prints? They obviously didn't seem bothered by the pits.
2) Will the prints have some negative effect on the coin in the slab after some time passes?
Eye test - right here!

The "prints" you refer to are NOT on the coin (either coin) they are on the outside of the plastic!
I agree the strike seems sharper on the NGC piece judging from the images.

I perhaps should have wiped the slabs clean with a sof cotton T-shirt to remove prints etc.
Garber was obviously owner of a one time Top 5 "All Time Greatest set" - first name, Brad.
Also, from past experience, PCGS coins beginning with the # 9 are CROSSOVERS!
The # 7 refers to a Bulk submission - the #5 refers to a "Walk thru" at a coin show, etc, etc
I'll look through my retired set to be sure about the #9 and will edit if I find this is in error.
You can look certain places, right now, at some PCGS 66 that ought NOT BE!
By all means, do continue.
Thanks.
The right field on the PCGS coin is the first thing that catches my eye.
I also believe that NGC would downgrade the PCGS coin a point on crossover, but I also think that PCGS would downgrade the NGC coin a point but I can't give you a reason why.

Teddy, I swear! Some people - never satisfied!
Now I suppose I'll just have to hunt through
the files to see if I can find their behinds!
Trust me - they look the same!
Ya seen One .... you've seen 'em all.
I'll have to look later!
Got a few things to do first!
I'd grade them the same but I'd take the PCGS coin and that eliminates any hastle trying to cross it over.
I'm challenged to say the least when it comes to grading.....but I still have an opinion, to me the NGC coin wins hands down, below I marked what I think are contact marks on the coins, also I think the PCGS coin had a little "dip pity do"before incarceration.?..is that the same as slabbed?
As far as the die state the pcgs looks better around the bow and LIBERTY, while the ngc appears stronger in the center hair area.(worn die)
Note..I've been wrong a million times, one more either way won't make a difference.
